Thanks everyone, that really helps. I have only skated it two times and it
isn't the best
surface, but it's really close to my apartment. I've been jogging it to try and
get into better
shape for skating and then for running the Bolder Boulder (my first time), and
for that it's a
great trail.
If anyone is interested in taking a jog with me, let me know. I am up to jogging
one time
straight (slow pace), then interval jog/walk a second time.
Cheers!

Not sure that I would do that one, most of that trail
needs to be repaved for rollerblade use. The new

Hi all,
Does anyone know what the distance of the paved trail around James A
Bible Park on E Yale Ave is, including the sidewalk that boarders Yale?
I tried looking online to no avail.
Much thanks in advance,
Melissa
Would you like to bring
back some of the early excitement and enthusiasm our sport enjoyed? Do
you wish to see more kids taking up the sport, find the pure joy in
skating, and seeing inline skating once again grow in popularity?
This summer we have an
opportunity to garner national attention for the sport of inline
skating and reach the hearts and minds of thousands and thousands of
potential skaters.
My name is Michael
Sandler. Together we have the opportunity to help rejuvenate our sport.
I am a skater and adventurist and focus all of my efforts on charity
events and helping others. Last year I did a 5000 mile, 40 day, solo
bicycle ride across America to help students and adults with Attention
Deficit Disorder. I received national attention on CNN, the national
morning shows, and interviews by over 40 newspaper reports and 20
television stations. This year I have even more exciting plans
involving inline skating!
Beginning August 6th of
this year I will make a similar journey, 4000 miles in 40 days from
L.A. to New York City on my inline skates to help those with A.D.D. and
to help bring inline back into the hearts and minds of Americans and
the world. (see my web site http://www.bladeacrossamerica.com)
. Skating is my passion, and I would like other to see how joyful
inline skating can be.
I could use your
help. Unfortunately, Colorado is not one of the states I’m traveling
through (see below) but it’d be great morale booster and rallying point
if you could organize a skate to help raise funds for ADD or in some
other way help support me in making this journey. This trip has been
approved as a world record attempt by Guiness book, so I can’t take any
mechanical assistance, but “skating a leg” in Denver and making a
donation, I could give your club local and national publicity.
Together we can promote the sport and take the journey to an entirely
new level.
We can use assistance
in dozens ways. We’re in need of volunteers, business, marketing,
medical, and publicity assistance; equipment, clothing, and nutrition,
sponsors and donations, not to mention many other things and assistance
to make such a challenging journey a reality.
Dare to dream, and
dream big. There are no limits in life and what we can accomplish if we
believe in ourselves and work together.
I look forward to
hearing from you, and feel free to check out our ever-improving website
at www.BladeAcrossAmerica.com , or come skate with me
as I train, here in Boulder.
Hope to hear from you
soon, and enjoy the day!
Sincerely,
Michael Sandler
Blade Across America
& Attention Deficit Disorder Education Foundation
Trip Route:
Beginning August 6th in Los Angeles, and finishing September 14th with
the escorted crossing of the Hudson into New York City, the trip will
be a "smiley face" of the U.S. traveling through the south and 18 major
cities in 15 different states.
Planned cities (in
order) include:
· Los Angeles, California
· Phoenix, Arizona
· Tucson, Arizona
· Ciudad Juarez, Texas
· Austin, Texas
· Houston, Texas
· Baton Rouge, Louisiana
· New Orleans, Louisiana

Hi--here is a skating web site I just found....Just passing it on for anyone who may not have seen this one...also one of the articles.... good potential! :)
Inline Skates Become Darling of Transit Strike The New York City transit strike is doing a nice job of showing off the commuter potential of inline skating. Lots of stories have listed inline skating as one of the creative ways New Yorkers are getting to work. And a favorite strike photo has featured commuters on skates. (Go to the Planet story.) (Dec. 22, 2005)
If you're like me, this winter you've been skiing more and skating
less.
I'm due for a skating intermission...Miami. An extended weekend of
skating, partying, and hanging out on South Beach sound good to me.
It's Feb 10-12, check out at http://www.skatemiami.com/.
I hope to see other Denver Skaters there & let know if you'll be there.
Cheers,
Eric Kline
Hey Denver skaters,
I haven't seen you guys for a while; as I spent September rehabbing my
sprained ankle, Oct & Nov traveling out of state for work, and Dec was
mainly too cold. Although tomorrow will be an awesome skating day;
it's supposed to be sunny and a high of 67 is anyone up for a lap of
Cherry Creek Res?
Anyways...maybe some of you want to meet for skiing, up in the Vail /
Breck / Keystone area. I'm going to up skiing all the week after next
(Jan 14-21). Mid-week skiing at Vail rocks!
Let me know if you are free to go skiing & want to be a ski buddy for
a day or two. If you need a place to crash that could be arranged, as
I'll be staying at a condo in Frisco.
Thrash-on!
Eric Kline

Last Freedom Skate :-( Be sure to let everyone know so they can get one last weekend skate in!
The formal announcement and website update will be coming out later this month, but I wanted to let the industry leaders know about the schedule for the 2006 Philadelphia Freedom Skate. Because of a hotel scheduling conflict, we've had to move the event one week earlier than the usual weekend. This year's event will be held on June 16-18. Unfortunately it conflicts with Fathers' Day but we didn't have any other good options.
Also – it's very likely that this will be the final Freedom Skate. While our attendance is still respectable, it has declined in recent years. That, combined with several of the key organizers "moving on" to other life activities, makes it unlikely that we could continue to produce an event that continued the high standards of the past, and we wanted to end our ten years of activity on a "high note". This will also open up the opportunities in 2007 for the New York, Boston and DC events by removing a competing event.

I've done the race about 15 years ago & I thought I was in great shape until I did that race. I would recommend to practice actual stairs in a closed hall way like the race. It seemed harder to breathe than running outside/on a machine. If you already ran a race like that I'm sure you know. The building is so tall that when you come down you actually have to take two elevators. Have fun & if I were in better shape I would do it.
