Cameron - Welcome to the group! The list is pretty heavy on the beverage side, so you could pick something standard that is missing from the posted list (like burgers or chicken to grill or BBQ, or a side dish like cole slaw or potato/pasta salad or guacamole/chips, etc.) or bring something that you consider your specialty if you have one. Deviled eggs? Paella? Quiche? Empanadas? We used to have a prize for the tastiest dish, but I don't know if we have anything left in the prize vault this year.

I will make an attempt at a banner - I found some canvas on sale and... well, we'll just see what I have time to come up with. I'm aiming for something we can use more than once.

I believe Dave (inverted skateboarder extraordinaire) may be bringing baked beans, if he can make it.

See y'all there!
Karen

Sports Plus on Gaylord is the best local place to get
skates. However the best selection out there is
online, check out inlinewarehouse.com. If you haven't
been on skates in 10 years, however, I would just go
to sports plus and get yourself a basic pair of
fitness skates!

Hi Micah!

There was another e-mail from Linda stating she would bring Coke/Diet Coke.  I added a huge supply of Tortilla chips and salsa.  I will also bring a camera!

Thanks!  Lori

I’m coming to the BBQ!
But I don’t know what I’ll bring yet.  Is anything missing (I havn't read all the emails on this)?  If not I’ll figure out something to bring.

Hopefully I can sort out my skate gear from the mounds of unpacked boxes in my garage soon.

I can contribute. If someone else is bringing soda, I

add that to my list. Also do we have any volunteers to
make the big sign? See everyone tonite!!

Ok, there are a hell of a lot of things I like about this job, but missing our weekly skate and especially the BBQ, are high on my (short) list of things I dislike about the job.

Have a great time!!!!

Did anyone skate last week in the rain? I'm planning to be there tomorrow, weather permitting. I think temps will be a bit lower than we've been having lately, but that's not all bad... maybe fewer folks in the parking lot...

Seeya!

Lauren and all,

The BBQ is scheduled for the normal skate time on June 6, starting 5:30-6 and going until 9 or 10, or until the last drop of drink is gone. We meet at the picnic area closest to the parking lot where we meet up, on the west side of Wash Park near Exposition. I think it is officially Picnic Area 2, but I may have the number wrong. It's near the playground and to the west of the rec center.

For the skates, we recommend a helmet and pads, and definitely some water. If you plan to join the street group, something reflective or a blinky light for visibility is also recommended. Bringing either your license and insurance card, or at least a photocopy of each is a very good idea in case of an emergency. Bring some money if you want to buy food/drinks if/when the group stops along the way. Sometimes we stop in the middle of the skate - sometimes afterward. We'll decide when we see who is going.

Welcome to the summer skate season!

Karen

Well hello Denver inline skaters!  I am a long-time casual inline skater who has been looking for skate companionship for some time now.  I am looking forward to starting up and meeting all of you on Wednesday.

On top of introducing myself, I wanted to ask if there is anything I'll need to bring besides a smile and my rollerblades?  Thankyou for your time, I'm looking forward to meeting you soon!

So June 6...

I think I will bring some kind of a salad to offset the fudge and cookies that Micah is promising... maybe a tomato/mozzarella/basil kind of deal. I think I will also bring some Sangria. Someone has to help me finish it this time besides Jenny-Lynn!

We were hoping Pretzel would resurface and maybe we could get him to make a banner again. Or does anyone have some type of banner material that we could use to make one that would be more permanent than paper, so we could use it long-term?

If anyone has any oddball devices for folks to try again, like the skate things Kon found last year behind a dumpster, that would be entertaining.

What did we forget last year - was it grill utensils? We probably need to coordinate all the condiments / plates / utensils / cups / grill necessities so we know we have all the essentials.

Hmmm, we should probably get some more cards from Vista-Print to hand out. I'll see if I can find the old ones and see about getting more made. We should definitely give some to skateboard Dave, as he seems to practically live in the park and see all kinds of folks to plug the club to.

What else? Where is Kon? Who is Ken Urban? When are we going to do the first street skate into construction-laden Denver? We also talked about having a night at one of those indoor rinks where you can rent quads...

Hope to see some of you out on Wednesdays!
Karen

I'll bring the Coyote skates.  Though they wouldn't make very good BBQ utensils, they are pretty entertaining.  I'll even donate them for whoever the lucky (well-insured) individual that comes up with the best grub for the BBQ.

I'll help with the Sangria, if you call a cab.

Speaking of BBQ, what's going on the grill?  Something healthy and flammable like brauts and burgers I hope.  Micah, are you keeping a list?  Let me know what's needed?
