does anyone know when the 3rd qualifying derby will be in gainesville
before the big show?

Jaycees Derby date is July 14, 2007, sorry for the incorrect date.

Paragould Jaycees "Smash `Em" Demolition Derby

RULES:

1) Entry fee is $40 per car. Fee admits the car and driver.
2) No one allowed in pit area without a pit pass. Pit passes will
be   sold at entry gate.
3) Cars must be 1978 and newer for GM; 1980 and newer for Ford &
Chrysler; NO front wheel drive, taxi cabs, hearse, ambulance, 4 wheel
drive, or all wheel drive. Must be an American made passenger car.
4) All glass, chrome, and plastic must be removed from car.
5) Stock gas tanks must be removed from the car.
6) Gas tanks and battery must be relocated inside the car. Gas tank
larger than 6 gallons must be a boat tank or plastic tank securely
mounted inside the car.
7) The driver's door may be reinforced on 4 door cars from a point 6
inches in front of the front door to a point 6 inches behind the
driver's door. On 2 door cars, the reinforcement may be from 6 inches
in front of the door to a point 15 inches behind the door. The
driver's door may be welded.
8) Halo (roll) bar, behind or over the head of the driver may be
used.
9) DOT approved tires only. No tires may be reinforced or liquid
filled. No implement or heavy equipment tires.
10) Bumpers may be welded to keep from removing them, or chained. No
metal may be added to the bumpers.
11) The doors and trunk must be chained. No chain larger than 1/2 may
be used.
12) 16 chains total. 1 wrap per chain.
13) Fender wells may be cut.
14) A 10in X 10in whole must be cut in the hood.
15) Nothing may be added to or changed on the car to alter its
original condition except the following: may run different drive
trains (ie Ford in Chevy or Chevy in Ford)
16) All holes in firewall may be sealed with sheet metal only.
17) Cars may run with headers.
18) Transmission coolers allowed.
19) No hitting in the drivers door. Violation will result in
disqualification!!
20) Body bushings may be removed and replaced with no larger than ¾
in bolt
21) Stock (5 lug bolt) rear end only
22) Welding of the rear end gears allowed.
23) Four ¾ in hold down rods in hood are optional.
24) Washers will be no more than 6in X 6in.
25) No rods or chains in front of radiator
26) No less than 2 inch bar and no larger than 4 inch. Mounting
plates no larger than 12 inch X 12 inch X ¼ inch.
27) No spray foam.
28) No welding or adding plates on the frames or body, except for
areas covered in THESE rules.
29) You have 2 minutes to make a hit if car stalls, an aggressive hit
must be made every minute. If someone is laying back, the race may be
stopped and the car marked.
30) Any car catching fire more than 2 times in any heat will be
disqualified.
31) Any car pushed or knocked into the barriers must be allowed to
pull back into arena, if vehicle cannot return to arena it will be
disqualified.
32) Any car turned over may be turned back on its wheels and allowed
to run if approved by officials.
33) Car must have functional seat belt and shall be worn during
competition. Helmet is required!
34) Absolutely NO alcohol will be allowed!! IF you are caught, you
will be disqualified!!
35) Cars must be inspected and through the gate 30 minutes prior to
starting time, NO EXCEPTIONS!!
36) Heats will be determined by drawing at the drivers meeting. All
drivers must attend driver's meeting in order to run in the derby.
37) Drivers meeting will be held 15 minutes prior to start.
38) JUDGES RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REINSPECT CARS AND ALL WINNING CARS
WILL BE INSPECTED AFTER THE FINAL HEAT.
39) ALL DECISIONS OF THE JUDGES WILL BE FINAL!!

Tape is very good, and cheap.  If anyone wants one you need to contact
Danny Southerland.  Tape tells a lot you don't get to see while in the
drivers seat, like who is knocking the hell out of you.  Run into you

congrats to the winners of the Prairie county fair board derby last
night all of you who were not there missed out hope to have all of you
at our fall derby. We will have 2 this year a legal derby on friday
night and a full blown outlaw derby on saturday night.

Is anyone planning on being at this derby?? Or am I wasting my time?

yes i got my money back i guess i read the rules wrong but i know in
the past there was no prebending allowed   but it is a good derby i
just didnt understand the rules

Anyone looking for a place to run come to Hazen arkansas most people
still call it the Des arc derby we are having a welded class derby May
19th 7 pm good pay out and lots of crashing we want everyone there. It
is completely ran by the Fairboard no outside promoters will have
anything to do with this Hope everyone can run.

found out today blytheville canceled there may 4th old school derby,   there are
about 7 cars looking for a place to run, whats the chance of poor boy's  having
one heat of old school and just pay back entry fee,  we just want to derby not
looking for big pay out just wanna derby!

   i got a 73 continetal i bought off mark bevil and i realy hate to waste it on
a full out law derby!
