DEMOLITION DERBY RULES & REGULATIONS

THE BELOW LISTED RULES PRECEDE ANY RULES PRIOR TO 2003

1. All chrome, tail lens, and glass must be removed from car
thoroughly before flag will be issued.
2. 6 gal. Tank mounted behind driver is the only authorized
loc. Must meet Federal regulations for outboard motor tank.
3. You can weld or chain all doors on car. You can weld or use
sheet metal screws on the seams of the car body. No welding on the
frame.
4. You may put a bar from the dash to the top of the car in the
windshield area for safety.
5. You may put a bar behind the seat from side to side of car,
minimum size of bar 3" in diameter and 6" maximum. Plate on end of
bar no larger than 12 square inches.
6. You are allowed to run a transmission cooler.
7. You are allowed no more than 8 bolts total between hood and
trunk of car, no larger than 3/4". Washers no larger than 4 square
inches.
8. Only 14" or 15" automotive type tires are allowed.
9. Any American made car is allowed except hearses, amulances,
or front wheel drive vehicles.
10. You may run a Chevy engine in a Ford car or vice versa.
11. If your vehicle catches on fire, the 1st time you will be
allowed to continue to run at your own risk, the 2nd time you are
out. All cars must be equipped with portable fire extinguishers.
12. You may only weld either the shock or the bracket on your
bumper, not both.
13. If your car came out with coil springs it must have coil
springs, if it came out with leaf it must have leaf.
14. No reinforcements allowed inside of car. Explanation: No
reinforcements allowed inside of car. This means no use of any type
of material to reinforce you car on the inside or outside. (Example:
no concrete, steel, bridge timbers, anything to reinforce your car.)
15. Hood must have a 10 inch square hole cut for inspection.
16. If anything illegal is obviously visible by a Judge after the
race you will be disualified with all money being forfeited for the
night.
17. Any car hit and knocked on its side or top will be turned
back over and break its flag.
18. Lap seatbelt must be worn. Helmet and safety glasses must be
wore at all times you are on the track even if your car is not
running.
19. No vehicles allowed in pit unless they are towing a car or
have equipment for the pits.
20. The Judges decision is final and any hostile acts will be
grounds for that person to be immediately disqualified and money
being forfeited for the night and escorted out.
21. All drivers must attend mandatory drivers meeting.
22. No one allowed on track between races other than driver and 1
(one, uno) pit crew to help get car to pits. Anyone else on track
will be escorted to bleachers.
23. Drivers must remain in car with helmet and safety glasses on
and seatbelt secured until the end of that race OR may exit the
vehicle with Judges permission during a red flag ONLY, unless of
course the car is on fire.
24. No hitting in driver's door. Judges discretion.
25. No deliberate hitting head on. Judges discretion.
26. All drivers must complete an aggressive hit every 3 (three)
minutes or be disqualified.
27. No car may hit another car while stuck on levee, car must get
off levee on its own within 3 (three) minutes.
28. Speed limit in pits is IDLE SPEED, WILL BE STRICTLY
ENFORCED. Anyone breaking this rule will be disqualified.
29. Any car that is disqualified during the race blocking a
moving car will be moved.
30. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ALLOWED ON GROUNDS. Anyone found with
alcohol will be escorted out immediately.
31. $10 pit pass. $25 entry fee for car and driver.
32. A trophy will be given to the top 3 (three) cars in each heat
other than feature and non winners race.
33. ALL CARS MUST BE PRESENT AND CHECK IN BY 6:00PM NO
EXCEPTION!!!!!!!!!!!
34. A trophy will be presented to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place
winner in the feature.
35. Payoff Guaranteed: 1st place $700.00 plus 40% of entry fee,
2nd place $500.00 plus 30% of entry fee, 3rd place $300.00 plus 20%
of entry fee, and 4th place $150.00 plus 10% of entry fee.
36. ALL VEHICLES MUST BE MOVED TO MAIN PARKING LOT IF THEY MUST
BE LEFT TO BE PICKED UP NEXT DAY.

ATTENTION DRIVERS BE SURE TO READ RULES #3, #31, #33, & #35.

MAY 10, 2003 7PM "CRAIG DARTER CLASSIC"
OCTOBER 11, 2003 7PM "THE FALL BRAWL"
RAIN DATES FOLLOWING SATURDAY

NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ON GROUNDS
