The best party of the year is right around the corner!
 
We will be providing beer/soda, burgers/hot dogs, chips/snacks.  If you want other foods, or other drinks, then feel free to bring some (with some extra to share). Otherwise bring a few dollars to donate to the pada fund (to go towards future parties)

Greg,

When you write “BLACK team rules!” do you mean that the Black Team is the most dominant of the DE Ultimate league teams? Or that the Arden pick-up games use an unofficial set of Ultimate rules that have been derived by the Black Team?

 

I have to think you must have meant the latter, because in point of fact: The White Team Rules!!!

The first of 8 sessions is this coming Wednesday, November 4th, 6-8PM at
Springer Middle School on Shipley Rd. in N. Wilmington.  Suggested donation to
Sierra Club $25.

Here are the dates:
November 4
December 2, 16
January 6, 20
February 10, 24
March 10

We only have a handful of people registered to participate.  If I don't get a
half dozen or so more within a day, then we will cancel these sessions and
devote the time to indoor family sports instead (which has generated more
interest).

Consider this your official invitation to the Delaware Fall League 2009 party! (sorry, I couldn't figure out how to make "engraved invitations" in an email)
 
WHEN: Friday November 13th.
 
We wanted players to have a chance to get to know each other in a more social setting.
 
The location is not decided yet, but it will likely be at someone's house in Wilmington (sorry to people who live far away). We have some funding for beer but would appreciate a few dollars from each person to go towards food (and the cleaning supplies that will be needed the next morning).
 
More details will follow, but for now if you want to go to the party then follow the link below for the Evite and fill in your name. That way we can get an idea of how many people will be attending.

Lest there be any doubt, GAME ON!

Fields are a bit wet, but we are not going to damage them.  Be sure to bring warm clothing.

Also, let's try and get games started closer to four.  As the daylight hours diminish, it will become increasingly important to get the game started so we are not impacted by sunset.

Thanks for your interest in schtick.  Some friends and I made it up in 1994 and
it has since spread throughout all over the globe.

Can we get a few more definites?? I'd love to come out but don't want to drive all the way there and not get to play. Though... with at least four people, is there a possibility of playing box? ;-)

   backstop in one corner.
 
We've had 13 players showing up the last couple weeks... a couple more and we'd really be set!
 
I'm going to get there a early to set the field and warmup so everything will be ready to play at 5:30.

Can't commit to play this winter, but Schtick sounds pretty interesting.
 
Before I attempt to get a game running (without ever having seen it) myself, I had a question concerning rolling discs.
 
Can rolling discs be picked up by any player or only a player whose territory the disc happens to be rolling in? i.e. If the disc is rolling on side A, then only side A players can pick it up?
 
A rolling disc that crosses the mid-line is still subject to the above "rule"... doesn't matter where it started rolling, just where it is when it's picked up.
 
Can a disc be rolled into the scoring area? 
 
Is it a standard rule or a variation that:
  Players can not stand in the scoring area.
  Players in the air are safe from being tagged?
      And is that only if they are attempting a "greatest"?
 
Thanks!  Hope to give it a try soon with my family and maybe at ultimate pickup.
