Sorry to bore you with my (our) troubles. Hopefully, after reading this you will get an insight ast to what is going on at 5 Points and why I am asking you all to take a more active part in the tournaments.
The Five Points Sports Complex (aka Community VB, Deptford, NJ) continues to make things difficult for us. I can no longer wait till the last minute for a committment. I have to reserve the courts and once you commit...please do not drop out....I cannot afford to cancel a tournament or a court.
They changed the rules and court rental agreement again. They asked that I pay for the courts up front and if I cancel I would lose 75% of the fee ($190.00 per court). Plus they wanted a $200.00 security deposit in case we damage the facility. I told them this was unacceptable. After much discussion and going over everyone's head, they relented....the new terms while not good are better than what they first offered. I have to give them a 50%...non-refundable...deposit. If I opt to use an additional court the day of the tournament and it is availble...whether I use it for an hour or for the day...I must pay the full rental fee!
Five Points management puports to bend over backwards for us but in reality it is not true. They have given away tournament dates and have neglected to tell me. They schedule parties during tournaments and limit me to 2 courts. They want an additional $50.00 per court if we run past 6:00 PM.
I am actively seeking other places to play but for now we are stuck and must continue to use Five Points.
I HAVE TO LIMIT THE ENTRIES TO BE COST EFFECTIVE. I NEED A COMMITTMENT ASAP SO I CAN RESERVE THE COURTS. I NEED YOUR SUPPORT IF WE ARE TO CONTINUE WITH THESE TOURNAMENTS.
