Friends, Teammates and Fellow Competitors,

I , and those of you who knew George are deeply saddened by his loss.

George passed away 2am Tuesday.  Services as it appears in the Wilmington News Journal is listed below. www.delawareonline.com.

George F. Fitzwater

George was born on May 23, 1949 and left this world surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 18, 2006.

George was a graduate of Elizabethtown Area High School, Class of 1967 and for the past 30 years has made Delaware his home. George was employed by MBNA Bank in various positions for the past 21 years and most recently as a vice president, senior change consultant. Volleyball and golf were avid passions of his, made even more special because they were shared with friends. If George wasn't found playing volleyball, he was coaching it. On the weekends if George wasn't manicuring his lawn, he was passionately coaching his favorite sports from the sofa, especially when routing for the Steelers. George was a man "bigger than life", and he will forever be in our hearts.

He was the beloved son of Dorothy and John Martin and the late Weldon Fitzwater. Cherished husband of Sherry. Proud father of Amy and Megan. Brother to Terry Fitzwater and Lynn Leach.

Family and friends are invited to join George's family for his Life Celebration and viewing on Saturday, July 22, 2006, from 1-4 pm at Beeson Funeral Home of Newark, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Fox Run, where a Life Celebration Service will be at 4 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Heart Association, 1501 Casho Mill Road, Suite 1, Newark, DE 19713; or Easter Seals, 61 Corporate Circle, New Castle, DE 19720.
