Last year we held the 1st Annual Jesse Cataldi Memorial Tournament and through your support were able to make a donation of $3,125.00 to the scholarship fund created in his memory. Fifteen Men's teams and 10 Women's teams competed. We would like to double that this year. Community Volleyball has given us the facility for 2 days...Saturday April 8th...25 men's teams and Sunday, April 9th for 25 women's teams. Prizes will be awarded in all divisions.
It is open to all levels....so when registering please state your level of play.
This fund was established in 2006 in memory of Jesse K. Cataldi. Jesse was a 1996 graduate of Antietam High School, where he was class salutatorian and played volleyball and soccer. A bright and energetic young man, Jesse attended Drexel University in Philadelphia, where he also played volleyball. He graduated from Drexel in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He was an assistant coach of the Red Rose Volleyball Club in Reading and was pursuing his passionate interest in the sport of volleyball when he died in an automobile accident on January 16, 2005, at the age of 27. Jesse was beloved by his family and friends and possessed an unusual ability to make others around him better because of his example.
