Hello,
My name is Ted Sammons. I am a volunteer with the City of Wilmington
for the Wilmington Games. The Wilmington Games (Basketball, karate,
track, disc golf watresports and many more) is a summer sporting
event in the City which was designed to introduce to kids ages 6 and
up to various types of sports. For almost 10 years, the City tries
to add games for the kids watch or participate in. The games are
primarily for kids and are offered free to the them. Adults may
organize and partcipate in the games but must govern themselves.
(Fees, referees, participants, etc.) The tournament(s) take place at
various parks throughout the city of Wilmington. The games which
occur on a weekday usually take place in the pm so that family
members can attend. The weekend events run from sunup to well into
sundown. There will be lit basketball and volleyball courts as well
as lit soccer fields throughout the city for the Games which run the
last week of July to the second week of August culminating to a huge
ceremony, (food, games, awards, etc.) on the final Saturday of the
event.
I am currently in charge of creating a summer tournament league or
clinic for three weeks during the games. I need someone with
volleyball coaching or managing skills to run an event or two on one
of the three weekends. Even if a team of people got together for a
weekend to make this happen would get us off to a really good start
since this would be our first effort with volleyball.
Please reply here or by email or call me if you are interested in
hearing more.
Thanks!
Ted Sammons
