JSVBA Entry Fees Reduced
The weather hasn't cooperated much this summer, but perhaps the JSVBA can do something to bring a little sunshine to Beach Volleyball Scene at the Jersey Shore.
The following are some of the responses from our test group when presented with our proposed changes to the JSVBA's beach volleyball tournament fee pricing.
"It will be the best thing that has happened to the sport in the last 10 years! How can you possibly do it? Won't you be losing money? As a BB player, I find it hard to justify how much I have to spend just to play my favorite sport. Since I am in college I have to watch every penny I spend so this is a great way to let me play more often. WOW!"
The experience with the High School and Junior Age tournaments, where we charged a reduced fee which did not include a T-Shirt, has prompted us to roll-back our pricing to our 1992 levels to save the players even more money throughout all the divisions.
Effective Immediately, as of August 15th, 2003
Our new JSVBA Entry Fee Structure is:
2-Player Pro/Open Divisions = $35 per team,
All other 2's Divisions (B, A/BB, AA) = $25 per team
4-Player Divisions = $40 per team
For On-Site Entries (Day of Event) add $10 per team
These reduced entry fees do not include a T-Shirt
You may still purchase a T-Shirt for the low price of only $10.
The Entry Fee for the Breast Cancer Benefit 4-player Masquerade Ball event on August 24th is $80 per team since those fees are being donated to charity.

If you missed it last year, this year will be bigger, better, and probably even sillier. Believe me, You want to be at this event!
The JSVBA wishes to express our deepest thanks to everyone who participated in last year's Breast Cancer Research and Treatment Benefit Masquerade 4-Player Beach Volleyball Tournament.
With the tremendous turnout and absolute blast that was enjoyed by all, we managed to raise $1,200.00 in 2002 for the Saint Barnabas Breast Cancer Research and Treatment Center in Long Branch, NJ.
We hope to be able to exceed last year's donation by including team solicitation of donations/sponsorship with the teams with the largest donation totals receiving awards. We will be working out the details as the summer progresses.
Last year, the winners of the volleyball playing event were the "Ooompha-Luumphas" and best costume theme was awarded (by vote of the participating teams) to "Ali Baba and his Harem".
The format of this event is pool play with single elimination playoffs, but the emphasis for this event is on having
*fun*
and raising money for a very worthy cause.
