Pre-Registration: is strongly requested to help us start the tournaments promptly. Teams that are pre-registered and completely paid can arrive at the beach at 9 am to hear their court assignment. You will not have to stand in line or fill out any paperwork that morning. We will have all of that dome for you and have you assigned to a court. Teams that arrive late will only be accepted to fill out a pool.
New Player's Party Procedure: We have started a new policy during for the player's party that we feel will benefit all players. Over the years I have had to constantly argue with bar owners and bartenders about volleyball players and how they do/do not tip. I know that most players leave tips every time that they get their free beer and food at the parties. But since it is usually a dollar at a time the bartenders and waitresses tend to not notice it. We now request that players not tip when they get their free food & beer. Instead all players will be required to chip in $1 when you receive your player party tickets and EEVB will give the total all at once to the head bartender/waitress which will make a much larger impression. I expect this change to work well in improving the image of volleyball players and that bartenders/waitresses will be very happy when we bring future parties to their establishments.
Leagues: The Bud Light Bach Volleyball Leagues are starting up throughout LI during the first 2 weeks of the summer. Teams can bring their registrations to Long Beach this Saturday and Sunday to avoid waiting in line on sign up nights. Single players and teams looking for additional players should check out the EEVB Bulletin Board on our web site.
AVPNext: EEVB tournaments are sanctioned by the AVPNext, which is the grass roots program of the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Series. All players will have to obtain AVPNext memberships when they sign up for tournaments this season. Even if you do not pre-register you can help move along the line by downloading and filling out in advance the AVPNext membership form which can be found at http://www.eevb.net/pdfforms.htm
