1. The schedule for March 2002:
A. March 2-3; Miami Beach (9th St. courts): MO $500 + a trip to the 7/20-21 $1,500 Southwest Airlines Flyaway Tournament in Newport, RI; WO $200B. March 5-6; Holiday Isle Resort, Islamorada in the Florida Keys: MO $500C. March 9-10; Siesta Key: MO $500 + a trip to the 7/20-21 $1,500 Southwest Airlines Flyaway Tournament in Newport, RI; WO $200D. March 14; Clearwater Beach (Lenora's on the Beach at the Best Western Sea Wake Inn): MO $400E. March 16-17; Clearwater Beach (south end of beach near Adam's Mark Hotel): MO $1,500, WO $300. Plus both MO & WO teams win a trip to the 9/14-15 $5,500 Big Shot Championships at the Hilton Casino in Atlantic City, NJF. March 23-24; Jacksonville Beach at Joe's Crab Shack: MO $500, WO $200G. 2. Registration Forms will be available online for the 2002 season. You will be able to download the forms in a PDF format and fill in the required info on your computer. The forms can then be printed and faxed or mailed to EEVB or brought down to the registration table. To be able to use these online forms you will have to obtain the most recent version of the free Adobe Acrobat Reader at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html. This is a new program that will have some kinks in it. Please let me know if you have any problems so that I can make it work better. You will also be able to save teh downlaoded form on your computer and then send it as an attachement to EEVB. This procedure will be especially helpful in speeding up regsitration if players fill out regsitration and AVPNext membership forms in advance.
3. New pre-registration procedures:
Players may pre-register by email/mail and avoid waiting on lines at the beach. Pre-registered teams must arrive at the beach by 9 am to hear court announcements. If you are running late you will already be assigned to a court. All pre-registered teams will be assigned to courts as if they waited in line to fill out forms. Teams that are not at their court by the first match will be subject to forfeits. Also remember to stop by the t-shirt booth in the morning to pick up your tournament shirt. Teams pre-registered by Feb 24 will also save $5 off the entry fee.
This procedure should help speed up registration for all players. To pre-register by email you must first place your credit card info on file with EEVB by calling 631-728-0397. If no one answers please leave the info on the answering machine. The web site is not a secure site so we do not recommend sending in your credit card info by email.
4. Corona Light Pre-registration Parties will be run 7-9 pm at the following sites:
March 2, Planet Hollywood, Miami Beach
March 8 at a site to be determine din Siesta Key
March 15 at Fanny's Lounge in the Ramada Inn Gulfview in Clearwater Beach
March 22 at Joe's Crab Shack in Jacksonville Beach
Corona Light specials will be run for all players. Teams that pre-register at parties will be able to arrive at the beach at 9 am as described in the pre-registration procedures above.
5. EEVB's new bulletin board: Players can post information at http://pluto.beseen.com/boardroom/m/56502/ to find tournament info and partners.
