Hi to all here, the new website I helped start,
WWW.HUNTERSONLY.COM , is getting so busy that I probably will have to
drop out of your group. I have enjoyed looking at your photos and
reading your posts, but with the new site having over 50 posts per
week, and rising, I am running out of time. We now have over 300
members and over 1000 posts in 5 months, so it is VERY active, and a
ton of fun. Good luck to all here in the coming seasons, and I hope
you visit HuntersOnly sometime. Olen.
It was windy, but still a great day to shoot. We had ten shooters and shot six stages. Johnny and George designed the stages and they were very challenging. They tested many skills and everyone found them interesting and fun. GREAT JOB GUYS! Thanks to Johnny and George for helping to setup and take down, to Johnny and Tom for helping to SO, and to Eric, Dan, Doug, Mike and Reggie for helping to tape, score, and take down. The match could not happen without this help. Thanks. Here are the scores:
Double Stack Division
1. Tom P., EX, 139.47, 4 FTN
2. Roger L., SS, 211.22, 8 FTN, 1 HNT
3. Mike T., UNC, 229.27, 10 FTN, 1 PE
4. Reggie J., UNC, 283.77, 6 FTN, 1 HNT
5. Johnny B., MM, 284.45, 12 FTN, 1 HNT
6. Eric M., UNC, 291.51, 5 FTN, 1 HNT
7. Dan B., UNC, 354.14, 12 FTN, 2 HNT
8. Doug M., UNC, 412.41, 15 FTN
Single Stack Division
1. George M., NOV, 245.58, 5 FTN, 1 HNT
2. Felix C., UNC, 325.49, 5 FTN, 1 HNT, 3 PE
Again, thanks to everyone for their help and coming out to shoot. Next month Eric and Dan have agreed to design the stages, so be sure to come and enjoy another great day of challenging and fun shooting.
JUST A REMINDER! There will be an IDSA Match this Sunday at the Johnson County Shooting Sports Range. Start time is 10:00 AM. Hope to see everyone there.
Remember, this Sunday is the Second Sunday IDSA Match at Johnson County. The weather forecast calls for sunshine and 60 Degrees. Sounds pretty good to me! Hope to see everyone there. Hammer time is 10:00 AM.
If the forecast changes and it looks like rain and we need to cancel, I will post an email to everyone Saturday afternoon.
I am glad to here the good news. I saw the weather last night and the rain this morning and was thinking of pussing out anyway. Even though I love to shoot I hate the wet cold weather conditions worse, not to mention the mud.
I hate to do this, but for those that were planning on shooting the 3 gun at TDSA on Saturday, we are going to have to postpone the match until a later date. The weather has conspired against us. We were going to set it up today, but are unable to do so due to the rain. Additionally, the forecast is calling for 25 degree windchills tomorrow as well. I will post a new date on the TDSA website in the next couple of days. Sorry for any problems this may have caused.

It was a very windy day ... we were able to shoot 5 scenarios, but
scores sure suffered.

John,
Good idea.
I figured other groups have figured out how to fight this BS.

Some lists are set up so that any new subscribers are on moderated status.
If they post on topic (or reasonably close) they are released from
"probation" and given unmoderated status. If they post spam, they are
removed from the list. Its not perfect, but it does keep out people (or
automated programs) that join every list they can just to spam.

Hi Len,
I got a call from a man a few days ago asking about TDSA Tulsa. He told me
that he emailed you and you recommended that he go to Tulsa because it was
closer. Just wanted to say thanks and let you know that I appreciate the
referral. You may not believe me but I continue to give you all the credit
that you deserve. Not a class goes by that I don't mention your name and
give you credit for being my mentor and teacher. I wouldn't be where I am
today if I hadn't met you. Thanks for everything again. Hope all is well.
Take care.

While I am off the range, Due to Rain, I will take advantage of the
time to make some updating posts.
It seems our IDSA Targets are getting around and being ordered. Some
to
run other matches, like tactical matches. And others are being used
for
training.
All are saying they like the target because it looks the closest to
what they think a "stopping Shot" should be.
We encourage them to also adopt the "threat" indicator system also.
We feel one for the Main aspects of IDSA that makes it unique is the
"threat" indicator system.
Well, I better get onto the title of the post. Big Matches.
This year we will have the first Nationals of IDSA. We will have it
at
the Dallas, Texas Range. a map can be found on www.tdsa.net.
We will have a classifier in place before then so everyone can be
classed for the Match.
It will be a one day match with 10 stages and side matches at the
end
while the scores are being tabulated.
The date will be announced asap.
We hope everyone has had a chance to shoot an IDSA Match this past
year. We have had a awsome response from those that have.
If anyone wants to get together a group and host a IDSA match just
give
us a call and we will do what we can to come to you and put one on
for
your club.
More to come,
Len Baxley
President IDSA

I understand and agree.
It seems the trash posters just "found" us and they won't let up.

What do you do to stop that?

Roger,
That message is not from a real person. It is spam generated by a computer. Len is going to have to block that particular address and profile before the messages are going to stop.

Yeah I know, I never really thought this stuff would work either, but honestly I stand totally corrected. This place http://www.camsandchatrooms.info/tktt is actually very awesome. I hooked mycam up and within no time at all I was talking to a few great ladies over it. Anyway, I recommend it to everyone here!

I am putting together a new order for Wilderness Belts, Sig Tac Vests and 5.11 Pants. The new Frequent Flyer Belt from Wilderness is very popular and information on the belt can be found at the following link http://thewilderness.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/3/products_id/196?osCsid=a6a05439c8fd9625fd42cdeff4fccec6. The price on the belts is $5.00 off list, and I pay for shipping. To obtain information on the color and size of the Sig Tac Vests go to http://www.sigarms.com/pc/viewCat_h.asp?idCategory=15. The list price on the vests is $59.95 and I charge $45.00, plus if I have enough orders I'll pay the shipping. Information on 5.11 Gear can be found at their web site. I will place the order some time next week, so please let me know this week if you would like to add something to this order.
Also, I have a shipment of Glock Pistols coming. If you are planning to purchase a new Glock Pistol let me know.
If you need additional information or if I can answer any questions, please contact me at 817-313-7861 or email at roger@....
We will have 8 stages, including one in the shoothouse. ALL stages will be multigun, with 3 stages using all 3 guns.
We will work over, under, around and through cars, we will use the plate rack, we will shoot from unusual positions. In short, it will be a challenging but fun match.
The longest rifle shot will be 5 clay birds at 100 yards, prone. It will be a limited stage so you only get 5 shots from each of the three positions. Any missed clay pigeon will cost 10 seconds on your time.
We will shoot 10 slugs on one shotgun and rifle stage, but all other shotgun stages will be birdshot only. We are working on the exact round count, but it will be in the area of
200 pistol, 200 rifle, 75 birdshot and 10 slugs for shotgun.
There will also be a side match, a two man, 4 gun stump shoot. $10 per team to shoot. Both will start with pistols, one will have the shotgun, the other the rifle. On the buzzer both commence shooting with pistols, trying to cut the stump (a 4X4) in half. Once both pistols are empty, the rifleman can start. Once he (or she) is empty, the shotgun can finish. The team that cuts the stump down the quickest will win.
If you have any questions about rules, please see the posting on 3 gun rules on the TDSA forum 3 Gun Section . We will be using those rules for the most part. The only difference is that this match will be shot using IDSA rules instead of IDPA as stated.

The weather was great and we had a great turnout. We had 18 shooters and shot 6 stages. I believe everyone enjoyed firing the MP5, even if it was in semi-auto only. Maybe next month we can try full auto. Thanks to everyone who helped set up, tear down, tape, score, and RO. A special thanks to George, Johnny, Tom, Bill and Robert. We had several new shooters and hope to have them and others back next month. Here are the scores:
1. Tom P., EXP, DS, 109.08, 1 FTN, 1 PE
2. Roger L., SS, DS, 129.09, 2 FTN
3. Johnny B., MM, DS, 159.05, 2 FTN
4. Howard M., UNC, DS, 166.55, 5FTN, 1 PE
5. Eric M., UNC, DS, 169.85, 3 FTN
6. Dan B., UNC, DS, 184.89, 1 FTN, 1 HNT
7. D.J. B., UNC, DS, 185.79, 5 FTN
8. Fred B., UNC, DS, 193.40, 5 FTN
9. George M., MM, SS, 199.17, 3 FTN
10. Larry N., MM, DS, 206.69, 6 FTN, 1 PE

Again, thanks to everyone for helping to make this a great match. Hope to see everyone next month, bring a friend, and we will try to shoot more stages by having two squads.
