Things are getting really exciting, leading up to DCRG's season opening bout "LOVE HURTS" against the Rollergirls of Southern Indiana on Saturday February 2nd. All the bout and ticket details are below, but first we want to tell you:
If you're doing the FAT Friday Trolley Hop tonight, look for DCRG along the way! Some of the skaters will be out flyering for the bout on Frankfort Avenue, so keep your eyes open for them!
Then tomorrow night, DCRG will be working the bar at Headliner's for the Halfway To Forecastle mini-festival. All the details are on the Forecastle website, but I hope you already got your ticket, because the event is officially sold out!
Aside from these public appearances, here's a few more things to hold you over until February 2nd:

Finally, take a look at this amazing promotional video shot by Daniel DeBiasi, who got out on the rink with a camera and skated amongst the rollergirls during a recent hard-hitting practice. Learn the rules of roller derby, what the DCRG skaters love about playing the sport, and what women have to do to become a rollergirl. It's six heart-pounding minutes of psyche-you-up for DCRG's second season!
So, are you pumped up and ready for some roller derby now? I thought so. Well it's the perfect time to go ahead and get your tickets to the first bout of the season - let the league know YOU JUST CAN"T WAIT for some women's flat track roller derby action! General Admission advance tickets for the LOVE HURTS: DCRG vs. Rollergirls of Southern Indiana bout at 7pm, Saturday, February 2nd at the Kentucky Fair & Exposition Center's West Hall (937 Phillips Lane) can be bought via Ticketmaster at this link:

Tickets can also be purchased at any Ticketmaster outlet, by phone (502-361-3100 or 1-800-487-1212), or at the KEC Ticket Office, located to the right of Freedom Hall. Advance tix are $10 plus service fee, or they are $15 at the door the night of the event. Doors open at 5:30pm and the bout starts at 7pm.
DCRG's official DJ, Kim Sorise, is back this season to pump up the crowds and skaters before and during the bout, plus there'll be halftime entertainment TBA. And yes, fans, there will now be BEER served at the bouts!!
So do a little tailgating with the DCRG Thunder before the bout, have some beers while cheering DCRG on during the bout, and then come share in the victory toasts at the Monkey Wrench (1025 Barret Ave @ Winter) at the official After Party.
OK, that was a lot of information! But we want to make sure everybody's in the loop. You'll probably get one more reminder next week, but then... IT'S ON!
