Hello Race Fans and welcome to this weekend's race recaps for
Thunderbird Speedway 8/14/04. Let's get started:

IMCA MODIFIEDS
Your heat winners were: Heat 1: Tommy Davis, Jr. #17, Heat 2: Danny
Fields #8, Heat 3: Ronny Sigman #48

Leading the field of 24 to the green was Chaz Exum in the Exum
Motorsports #21x. Starting outside front row was Rick Wycough in the
#148. Starting this modified feature would prove to be a task, as it
would take 7 attempts and 25 minutes before the first lap would be
completed. On the first attempt, the #20 of Terry Pritchett would
spin and collect the #8 of Danny Fields, Jason Gore #22, Rodney Finch
#89, Chance Kimberling #34, Charlie Smith #516, and Albert Randall
#33. Gore and Kimberling would have to change tires, but both were
able to make it back before the race started. On the second attempt,
Rodney Finch #89 would make contact with another car and suffer a
flat tire. The third attempt would bring out a caution for the #33 of
Albert Randall and the #77 of Oran Lunsford. Under this caution, the
field would bottleneck at the flag stand. Tommy Davis, Jr. #17, Ronny
Sigman #48, and Rodney Spear #75 would all make contact. Sigman would
suffer a broken right front. He would go to the pits. Attempt number
four would see the #37 of Chris Bell bring out the caution as he
stalled on the backstretch. His night would be done. The fifth
attempt would see the #18 of Cody Smith and the #26 of Chad Deaver
spin coming out of Turn 4. Both would rejoin the field. On the sixth
attempt, the #17 of Tommy Davis, Jr. would be spun under the flag
stand by the #45 of Shane Killingsworth. The #26 of Deaver would spin
as he tried to miss Davis. Davis would show his displeasure and pull
up alongside Killingsworth under the yellow. Davis would rejoin the
field in last. Also, under this yellow, Ronny Sigman who went out on
the third attempt would rejoin the field after fixing his problems.
He would start on the rear. After six unsuccessful attempts, the
seventh attempt would prove to be the magic one, as Chaz Exum #21
would get the jump and take the early lead. On this lap, Davis would
go to the pits with a right rear flat caused from his spin. At Lap 3,
Jack Sartain #97 would pass Exum, and set his sights on the feature
win. At Lap 5, Sartain still leads with Max Eddie Thomas #82 passing
Exum for 2nd. Shane Killingsworth #45 is in 4th. On Lap 8, Sartain
still leads, but has pulled away by almost a straightaway. Thomas is
in 2nd, Killingsworth 3rd, and Exum is in 4th. Sartain leads at
halfway, with Thomas and Killingsworth 2nd and 3rd. Thomas Blackwell
#015 is in 4th. At Lap 12, Sartain is in heavy traffic which is
allowing Thomas and Blackwell to close in. At Lap 15, Sartain still
leads, but Thomas has closed the gap considerably. Blackwell is 3rd,
and Jason Gore #22 is 4th. At Lap 17, Sartain still leads, but Thomas
is on his bumper. Gore is 3rd and Ronny Sigman is 4th. With two to
go, Sartain leads. Gore passes Thomas for 2nd, and Thomas and Sigman
are battling for 3rd. Sartain leads at the white flag with Gore
closing in fast. Thomas and Sigman still battle for 3rd. Chad Deaver
#26 would spin and bring the yellow flag out before the field takes
the checkered. Due to the 30-minute time limit, the checkered flag
would be waved, and Jack Sartain #97 would take the feature win. The
rest of your top 5 are: 2nd-Jason Gore #22, 3rd-Max Eddie Thomas #82,
4th-Ronny Sigman, 5th-Thomas Blackwell. There were no claims. The
hardcharger of this race goes to Ronny Sigman #48 for coming from
24th to 4th after breaking a right front and getting it fixed.
Awesome job by his crew, and a great drive by Sigman.

Your heat winners were: Heat 1: Tommy Davis, Jr. #17, Heat 2: Terry

Leading the field of 20 cars to the green was James Watson in the
Davis Race Cars, Tommy's Towing, Arrow Signs, T&W Tires #86. Starting
outside Watson was Michael Thomas in the Thomas Racing, Gatlin Motors
#571. Thomas would get the jump on Watson. Watson would fall back to
5th place because of his bad start. Jason Wisel #830 is 2nd, David
White #31 is 3rd, and Justin McGlocklin #15 is 4th. At Lap 3, Thomas
still leads with White in 2nd, Brent McKnight #83 in 3rd, and J.D.
Berryhill #34 in 4th. At Lap 5, White would pass Thomas for the lead.
Berryhill is running 3rd, and Randy Miller #66 is 4th. At Lap 8,
White still leads, while Berryhill passes Thomas for 2nd, and Miller
is still 4th. White leads at halfway followed by Berryhill, Terry
Pritchett #112, and Miller in 4th. At Lap 12, White still leads.
Pritchett passes Berryhill for 2nd and Miller is still in 4th
position. At Lap 13, Pritchett begins to pressure White for the lead.
At Lap 14, Pritchett makes the pass and sets his sights on his third
win in a row. At Lap 16, Pritchett leads and Berryhill passes White
for 2nd. Miller continues in the 4th spot. With two to go, Pritchett
still leads but by a straightaway followed by Berryhill, Jason Gore
#021, and Miller. Pritchett leads at the white flag. Gore passes
Berryhill for 2nd and brings Miller with him. Coming out of Turn 4
and taking his third win in a row and fifth win of the 2004 season is
Terry Pritchett in the Pearson Plumbing, Hobby Horse Embroidery, Fast
Graphics #112. The rest of the top 5 are: 2nd-Jason Gore #021, 3rd-
Randy Miller #66, 4th-J.D. Berryhill #34, 5th-David White #31. There
were no claims. The hard charger goes to Jason Gore #021 who started
17th and finished 2nd.

Street Stocks

Your heat winners were: Heat 1: Ricky Spindle #79, Heat 2: Mike
Nabors #28, Heat 3: Clint Frideley #82.

Leading the field of 25 to the green was Michael Kent in the Kent
Racing #451. Outside of Kent was Bobby Morgan, Jr. in the Morgan
Racing #42. As the green flew, Kent gets the jump, but there is a
caution in Turn 3. The #63 of Bobby Morphis and the #67 of Joe
Shugart would make contact and spin. Also involved in the crash were
the #141 of Mike Miller and Darrell Turner #4. All cars were done for
the night, and the #179 of Ricky Rogers would also go to the pits. On
the complete restart, Morgan would get the jump on Kent. Ricky
Spindle #79 would be 3rd and Phillip Smith #94 in 4th. At Lap 3,
Morgan still leads followed by Spindle, Kent, and Clint Frideley #82
in 4th. At Lap 5, Morgan leads Spindle, while Frideley passes Kent
for 3rd. At Lap 6, your 4th and 5th place runners Michael Kent and
Tommy Davis, Jr. #17 would get hung together coming out of Turn 4.
The drivers would finally get unhooked coming out of Turn 2, and both
would continue in the same spots. At Lap 8, Morgan leads Spindle.
Going into Turn 3, your 3rd place runner, Frideley and 4th place
runner, Davis would make contact. Davis would get spun between turns
3 and 4 and bring the yellow out. Davis rejoins the field in last,
but under the yellow, his right rear tire would go flat. His night
would be done. On the restart, Spindle gets the jump on Morgan, both
would race hard down the front stretch, with the end result being
Morgan in the wall in Turn 1. His night would be done. On the
restart, Spindle would get the jump with Frideley in 2nd, Aron
Bressler #55 in 3rd, and Mike Nabors #28 in 4th. At Lap 12, Spindle
still leads Frideley. Bressler and Nabors remain 3rd and 4th. At Lap
13, Frideley slides up the hill and allows Bressler, Dave Emmons #23,
and Nabors all to pass him. With two to go, Spindle leads followed by
Bressler, Emmons, and Nabors. Spindle leads at the white flag, while
Bressler and Emmons battle for 2nd. Coming out of Turn 4, and taking
his first win of the 2004 season is Ricky Spindle #79. The rest of
the top 5 are: 2nd-Aron Bressler #55, 3rd-David Emmons #23, 4th-Mike
Nabors #28, 5th-Clint Frideley #82. The hard chargers go to Aron
Bressler #55 who started 13th and finished 2nd, Jay Edmonds #99 who
went from 21st to 10th, and Guy Lambert #25 who went from 25th to

SIMS

Your heat winners were: Heat 1: Richard Strain #37, Heat 2: Chris
Davis #171, Heat 3: Stan Kotwitz #97

Leading the field of 20 the to green was Charles Garza in the Madres
Cocina #71. Starting outside of Garza was T.J. Sonntag in the Eckert
Racing #44. Garza would get a bad start and Michael Martin #31 would
take the early lead. Sonntag is 2nd, Garza 3rd, and Chris Davis #171
is 4th. On Lap 3, Martin still leads Sonntag, but the 3rd place
runner, Garza, would spin. Also involved were the #90 of Bobby Morgan
and the #010 of Gary Blackwell. All would rejoin the field in the
back. On the restart, Martin gets the jump with Sonntag in 2nd, Cody
Smith #311 in 3rd, and Dustin Sprouse #28 is 4th. At Lap 6, Martin
still leads, Sonntag is 2nd, Smith is 3rd, and Richard Strain #37 is
4th. At Lap 10, Martin still leads, but the yellow comes out for the
#58 of Adam Wilcox. On the restart, Martin gets the jump, but we have
our 3rd yellow as the #28 of Dustin Sprouse, the #117 of Jason
Sartain, and the #010 of Gary Blackwell would all be involved in the
caution. Blackwell and Sartain were able to continue, but Sprouse's
night would be done. On the restart, Martin gets the lead with
Sonntag, Smith, and Strain still running 2nd, 3rd, and 4th,
respectively. At Lap 13, Martin still leads followed by Sonntag,
Strain, and Randy Miller #821 in 4th. Behind this, a hard battle for
9th between the #90 of Bobby Morgan and the #171 of Chris Davis would
end with Davis in the tire coming out of Turn 2. His night would be
done due to a broken left front spindle. On the restart, Martin gets
the lead, with Sonntag, Strain and Smith battling for 2nd. Martin
leads at the white flag. A battle for 3rd would end as the #311 of
Cody Smith would make contact with the #37 of Richard Strain. The end
result would be Smith getting blackflagged and Strain spinning.
Coming out of Turn 4 and taking his first career SIMS Modified
feature win was Michael Martin in the J.M. Martin Construction #31.
The rest of your top 5 were: 2nd-T.J. Sonntag #44, 3rd-Max Eddie
Thomas #82, 4th-Randy Miller #821, 5th-Brian Stowers #182. No claims.
The hard charger goes to Rickey Haney #99 who went from 17th to 6th.

good race with Danny Pattat #20 taking his third feature win of the
2004 season at Thunderbird. The rest of the top 5 were: 2nd-Chris
Kent #47, 3rd-Jimmy Gore #21, 4th-Allen Montemagno #555, 5th-Tommy
McManus #747. The hard chargers were Tommy McManus #747 who went from
11th to 5th and Jimmy Gore #21 who went from 10th to 3rd. Good Job

Another great night of racing. Congrats to all of the kids bicycle
races winners and to the winners of the two bicycles raffled off by
Town East Ford. Remember, this weekend, 08/21 is the Women's Powder

i have not heard of thunder bird speedway doing away with mini stocks either as
far as i know they will still be running next year mark has mentioned anything
to us about taking the mini stocks off the program he has mentioned some other
classes but not the minis

rumors are out that many of the metroplex racetracks are no longer
going to carry mini stock.....as of the 3rd weekend in august
kennedale is going to allow a slot in their shedule for mini stock
if enough drivers show they will be allowed to race at kennedale
motorspeedway not cowtown...please respond so i can count the cars
and give them notice PLEASE

Welcome race fans to the 7/17/04 Thunderbird Speedway Race Recaps.
Let's get started:


IMCA STOCK CARS
Your heat winners were Jason Gore #021 & Justin McGlocklin #15
Leading the field of 18 to the green was Michael Thomas in the Thomas
Racing, Gatlin Motors, Thomas Racing Chassis #571.  Starting outside
front row was David White in the Triple D, Rusty Barn #31.  As the
green flag dropped, Thomas jumped to the lead, but White would take
the lead going into turn 3.  At lap 2, White leads Thomas and Justin
McGlocklin is in 3rd.  The first yellow would fly on lap 3 as your
3rd place runner Justin McGlockin would spin in turn 1 &2 and stall.
Brandon Kirkland #42 would have to stop and go into the infield to
miss him.  Both would restart on the tail.  On the restart, White
jumps back out to the lead with Thomas in 2nd and Jason Gore in 3rd.
On lap 7, the final yellow flew as the #13 of Phillip Smith would
spin and stall.  He would rejoin the field in last.  On the restart,
White jumps to the lead with Gore in 2nd.  Gore starts to look under
White going into 3, but White shuts the door.  Gore looks low in
1&2.  Again, White shuts the door, and one more time Gore looks low
in 3&4.  He gets under White, but White runs Gore to the infield.
Gore makes the pass in turn 1 and sets sail for his 2nd win in a
row.  Gore leads at halfway with White in 2nd and Terry Pritchett in
3rd.  On lap 12, Pritchett starts to look under White and makes the
pass.  At lap 15, Gore leads by a bunch with Pritchett in 2nd and
White in 3rd.  With 2 to go, Gore still leads by a bunch with
Pritchett still in 2nd.  The white flag is shown to Gore.  Coming off
Turn 4 and taking his 2nd win in a row and 5th of the 2004 racing
season is Jason Gore in the Gore Racing Chassis #021.  The rest of
your top 5 is 2nd Terry Pritchett #112, 3rd David White #31, 4th Tim
Hardman #2, and 5th Stan Kotwitz #97.  Your Hard Charger is Stan
Kotwitz #97 who started 16th and finished 5th.  Good job Stan.   NO

IMCA MODIFIEDS
Your heat winners were Lee McCullough #3m, Chance Kimberling #34 and
Jason Troutman #44

Leading the field of 25 to the green was Lee McCullough in the Nextel
Communications, Denny's. McCullough Racing #3m.  Starting outside
front row was last week's winner, Jason Troutman, in the Town East
Ford, Chase Me Racing Engines #44.  As the green flag flew,
McCullough jumped to the lead, but Troutman would pass him in Turn 3
and take the lead.  Troutman would set his sights on winning two in a
row.  The yellow would fly for a crash in turn 3, when Brad Thomas
#51 would spin and collect the #720 of James Black, the #11 of Eddie
Scott, and the #8 of Danny Fields.  All would rejoin the field,
except for Danny Fields, who hurt his left leg in the crash, and
would have to be taken to the hospital.  We would have a complete
restart with the #51, #720, and the #11 going to the rear.  On the
start, Troutman would get the jump on McCullough and take the lead.
McCullough is in 2nd and Tommy Davis Jr. #17 in 3rd.  At lap 3, the
2nd yellow would fly as the #51 of Brad Thomas would spin in Turn 3.
His night would be done as he goes to the pits.  On the restart,
Troutman would jump out to the lead again, with Davis in 2nd, and
Charlie Smith #516 in 3rd.  On lap 5, the 3rd yellow would fly as the
#21x of Chaz Exum would spin in turn 2 and stall.  On the restart,
Troutman would jump to the lead and continue to make his run for 2 in
a row, 2nd is Davis and 3rd is Smith.  At Lap 8, Troutman leads by a
half a straightaway.  Davis and Smith are battling side by side for
2nd, with Thomas Blackwell #015 in 4th.  Troutman leads at halfway by
a straightaway with Davis and Smith still running side by side for
2nd.  At Lap 15, Troutman is over a straightaway ahead, but is in
heavy lap traffic.  Davis and Smith are still battling for 2nd, and
Blackwell and Kimberling are battling for 4th. Troutman leads with 2
to go.  Davis is 2nd, Smith 3rd, and Blackwell 4th.  The white flag
comes out, but we have trouble on the front straightaway.  The #28 of
Darrell Turner would spin and stall, so we would have a green-white-
checker finish.  Davis and Smith are happy to see it.  They get a
chance to take the win.  On the restart, Troutman gets a good start,
and he gets away by 2 car lengths.  Davis and Smith once again start
there battle for 2nd.  Troutman leads at the white flag.  Davis and
Smith go into Turn 1 side by side, but Smith jumps the cushion in
Turn 1 and falls back to 7th.  Coming out of Turn 4 and taking his
2nd win in a row is Jason Troutman in the Town East Ford, Chase Me
Racing #44.  The rest of your top 5 is 2nd Tommy Davis Jr. #17, 3rd
Thomas Blackwell #015, 4th Terry Pritchett #20, and 5th Chance
Kimberling #34.  As Troutman took the checkered, there was a crash in
Turn 4.  Lee McCullough #3m and Chris Bell #37 would spin.  NO
CLAIMS.  Your Hard Charger was Terry Pritchett #20 9th to 4th. Good
job Terry.


SIMS MODIFIEDS
Your Heat winners were Dustin Sprouse #28 and Skip Luther #73

Leading the field of 18 to the green was Dustin Sprouse in the
Sprouse Racing #28. Starting outside front row was Steve Hardy in the
Davis Race Cars, Arrow Signs, Quailty Sand #15. As the green flag
flew, Sprouse would get the jump, but Hardy would pass him on the
back straightaway.  Gary Blackwell #010 would pass Hardy coming out
of 4 and bring Sprouse with him.  On Lap 2, the first yellow flew
when your 2nd place runner, Dustin Sprouse, would spin in Turn 3.  On
the restart, Blackwell would jump to the lead with Hardy in 2nd and
Tommy Davis Sr. #17 3rd.  On lap 5, Blackwell still leads, but is
pulling away.  Hardy runs 2nd and Davis 3rd.  Blackwell still leads
at halfway by over a straightaway with Davis in 2nd, and Max Eddie
Thomas #82 in 3rd.  On lap 10, the final yellow would fly as Steve
Hardy, who was running 4th, would break in Turn 2 and stall. He would
have to be towed in. On the restart, Blackwell gets the jump, with
Davis and Thomas battling for 2nd.  Thomas takes 2nd on lap 12 and
sets his eyes on Blackwell.  On lap 12, Thomas looks high on
Blackwell, but cant make the pass.  Thomas goes low in 3 & 4 and both
drivers run hard. With 2 to go, Blackwell and Thomas are still side
by side for the lead.  The white flag flies, and they're still side
by side.  Thomas edges ahead out of 2 and makes the pass in turn 3.
Coming out of turn 4 and taking his 9th win of the 2004 season is Max
Eddie Thomas #82, 2nd and a great run for Gary Blackwell #010, 3rd
Brian Stowers #182, 4th Tommy Davis Sr. #17, and  5th Stan Kotwitz
#97. Your Hard Chargers are Max Eddie Thomas #82 8th to 1st and Chris
Davis #171 15th to 7th.  Good job guys.

STREET STOCKS
Your heat winners were Bobby Morphis #63, Cody Sample #20 and Calvin
Williams #337

Leading the field of 23 to the green was David Hollaway in the Gore's
Racing Chassis #52.  Starting outside the front row was Justin Strain
#64.  As the green fell, Hollaway would jump to the lead, but it
wouldn't last long as Phillip Smith #94 would take the lead on lap
2.  Smith leads at lap 4 with Dave Emmons #23 in 2nd and Hollaway in
3rd.  Smith still Leads on lap 6 with Emmons 2nd and the fast moving
Tommy Davis Jr. #17 in 3rd.  On lap 7, the only yellow would fly for
the stalled car of Cody Sample.  His night was over, as he is pushed
to the pits.  On the restart, Smith gets the jump, but on lap 8,
Emmons passes Smith, whose left front wheel has locked up.  Davis
takes 2nd, as Smith falls to 3rd.  At lap 10, Emmons leads, but Davis
is all over his back bumper.  Davis is looking low, but Emmons holds
the lead.  At lap 12, Emmons still leads, but Davis is still right on
his bumper and is looking low, but can't get by Emmons.  With 2 laps
to go, Emmons leads, but just barely, Davis looks low in 1 & 2 and
gets alongside Emmons.  They drag race down the back straightaway.
They are side by side in 3&4, but Emmons gets ahead coming out of 4.
They take the white flag.  Emmons leads, but Davis looks low in 1 but
cant make the pass.  Davis looks low again in 3.  He gets his nose
under Emmons, but coming off Turn 4, and taking his first win of the
2004 Season is Dave Emmons in the Emmons Racing #23.  Finishing a
close 2nd for the 3rd week in a row is Tommy Davis Jr. in his Davis
Race Cars, Arrow Signs, Marshall's RV, Tommy's Towing, Canton Paint &
Body, RCP, Pro-Trak #17, 3rd goes to Clint Frideley #82, 4th  ?  ,
and 5th to Calvin Williams #337.  Your Hard Charger was, until I see
the results for every car, Tommy Davis Jr. #17 11th to 2nd.

Welcome Race Fans to the Thunderbird Speedway Race Recaps for
5/15/04. Well let's get started!

IMCA STOCK CARS
Your heat winners were Heat #1 Justin McGlocklin #15 Heat #2 David
White #31 and Heat #3 Kevin Sustaire #87

now the Feature
Starting on pole and leading the field of 22 to the green was Allen
Vance, in the McGlocklin Racing #24. Starting alongside him was Kevin
Sustaire in the #87 Thoroughbred Racing Chassis stock car. When the
green flag flew, Sustaire jumped to the lead followed by Vance. At
lap 3, Sustaire still leads followed by Brandon Kirkland and Terry
Pritchett. On lap 5, Sustaire leads by a straight over Kirkland, but
the only yellow would fall on lap 6. On the restart, Sustaire jumps
out to the lead, followed by Kirkland and a fast moving Tommy Davis
Jr. At halfway, Sustaire leads. In 2nd is Davis Jr. Jeff Sustaire
pulls off with a flat tire on lap 11. A battle for the lead takes
place as Davis dives under Sustaire going into turn one. Davis makes
the pass, and starts his run for the win. On lap 13, Brandon Kirkland
passes Sustaire for 2nd, and brings Terry Pritchett with him. On lap
17, Davis leads now by a straightaway, followed by Kirkland and
Pritchett. Randy Miller passes Sustaire for 4th. With 2 laps to go,
Davis leads Kirkland and Pritchett. As the white flag comes out,
Davis leads still by a straightaway over Kirkland. Coming out of Turn
4, and taking the checkered flag is Tommy Davis Jr., #17, in the
Davis Race Cars, Tommy's Towing, RCP, Canton Paint & Body, Pro-Trak,
Arrow Signs, Marshall's RV Stock Car. 2nd goes to Brandon Kirkland
#42, 3rd Terry Pritchett #112, 4th Randy Miller #66, and rounding out
the top 5 was Kevin Sustaire #87. As Davis takes pictures in victory
lane, we have our first Motor Claim of the 2004 season in the Stock
Cars and 2nd Claim this year as Kevin Sustaire claims your Feature
Winner, Tommy Davis Jr. Davis also gets the Hard Charger award, as he
started 12th and won.


SIMS Limited Modifieds
Your heat winners were: Jason Sartain #117 and Alex O'Hanlon #114.
Now, to the feature. Leading the field of 18 SIMS Limited Modifieds
to the green was Anthony O'Hanlon, #114. Starting outside was Jason
Sartain, #117. As the green flag flew, O'Hanlon jumped to the lead,
followed by Sartain. On lap 3, a 3-way battle for the lead starts as
Tommy Davis Sr. dives under the two leaders, but is put in the
infield. Davis rejoins the field in 6th. O'Hanlon leads at lap 5. At
halfway, O'Hanlon still leads, followed by Richard Strain #37 and Max
Eddie Thomas #82. On lap 10, Thomas dives under O'Hanlon for the
lead, and he passes him out of turn 2. On lap 12, the yellow flies
for oil on the track. On the restart, Thomas leads Strain and Davis,
who is now 3rd. As the white flag flies, a battle for 2nd heats up as
Davis looks under the #37 of Strain. Going into 4, Davis looks low
again, but hits oil, and flies off the track and falls back to 7th.
Coming out of turn 4, and taking his 6th win of the year is Max Eddie
Thomas #82. 2nd goes to Richard Strain #37, 3rd is your point leader
Randy Miller #821, 4th goes to Alex O'Hanlon, and rounding out your
top 5 is Brian Stowers #182. Max Eddie Thomas is the hard charger for
the SIMS.

Leading the field of 24 cars was Dennis Zimmerman in the #127 Z&Z
Motorsports, Town East Ford Modified. Starting outside was Max Eddie
Thomas #82. As the green flew, Zimmerman jumps out to the lead,
followed by Thomas and Killingsworth. In the middle of the pack, the

Motorsports, Town East Ford, Enduro Powder Coating, City Motor Supply
Modified. On the restart, Zimmerman still leads, and is now followed
by Killingsworth. On lap 3, Killingsworth takes the lead from
Zimmerman, who falls into 2nd. Thomas Blackwell, #015, is now 3rd. At
lap 5, Killingsworth is pulling away. Blackwell now runs 2nd, and
Zimmerman 3rd. Killingsworth leads at halfway, with Thomas Blackwell
running 2nd. On lap 12, the yellow flies as a 4-car crash haults the
race, when Jason Gore #22, Lee McCullough #3m, Oran Lunsford #77 and
Ed Weatherby #35 crash in turn 1. All 4 are done for the night. On
the restart, Killingsworth leads Blackwell and Cody Smith #18. On lap
14, Blackwell makes his move and passes Killingsworth. who is trying
to win 2 in a row, for the lead, and sets his sights on the win. On
lap 16, Dennis Zimmerman #127 pulls off while in 5th. On lap 17,
Blackwell still leads, with Cody Smith now in 2nd, Killingsworth in
3rd, and Jeremy Willis #07 in 4th. With 2 to go, Blackwell leads by
almost a straightaway, and Charlie Smith has taken over 5th. Coming
out of turn 4, and taking his first win of the year is Thomas
Blackwell #015. The rest of the top 5: 2nd goes to Cody Smith #18,
3rd to Jeremy Willis #07, 4th Shane Killingsworth #45, and rounding
out the top 5 is Charlie Smith #516. Hard charger goes to Cody Smith
#18, who started 6th row and got 2nd. No claims.

Leading the field of 24 to the green was Dave Emmons #23. When the
green dropped, Emmons jumps to the lead, followsd by Mike Nabors #28.
On lap 2, Mike Nabors takes the lead from Emmons who falls into 2nd,
followed by Matt Deaver #1 in 3rd. At lap 5, Nabors still leads, with
Deaver now in 2nd and Emmons 3rd. On lap 7, the yellow falls as Cody
Sample wheels hops the #025 Of Keith Jackson. Sample spins after he
re-fires the car. He comes around and hits Jackson in the back
bumper, and is blackflagged for rough driving. His night is done. On
the restart, Nabors jumps back to the lead, but Deaver is running
hard to pass Nabors. On lap 9, Deaver passes Nabors, who falls into
2nd, with Emmons 3rd, and Mike Deaver 4th. On lap 12, Matt Deaver
leads wth Dave Emmons now 2nd, Mike Deaver 3rd, and Nabors now 4th.
On the white flag, Deaver leads, but Emmons looks low but can't make
the pass. Going into turn 3, Emmons looks again, but can't do it.
Coming out of 4, and taking his 3rd win in a row is Matt Deaver in
the #1 Deaver Racing Chassis Street stock. The rest of the top 5 are:
2nd Dave Emmons #23, 3rd Mike Deaver #29, 4th James Bardin #07, and
rounding out the top 5 is Mike Nabors #28.

Leading the field of 14 to the Green was Danny Pattat #20. Starting
outside was the #68 of John White. When the green fell, Pattat jumped
out to the lead, followed by White. On lap 2, a battle for 2nd heats
up as they go 4 wide down the back, but there isn't enough room and
Chris Kent #47 is forced down into Bobby Ortega #07. Both spun into
the infield. Kent saves his and gets back on track in turn 3, but
Ortega has to cut through the infield. Close call for all drivers. On
lap 5, Pattat still leads, with Jimmy Gore in 2nd. The yellow falls
for the #911 of Billy Crocker Jr. who spun in turn 2 and stalled. On
the restart, Pattat retakes the lead with Gore still 2nd. The 2nd
yellow falls when Trent Dorman, last week's winner spins in turn 3
and stalls. On the restart, Pattat still leads, Gore is 2nd, and now
3rd is Jason Riddle who started last after racing at Greenville. With
2 to go, Pattat leads, but Riddle is now 2nd. Close behind, Gore now
runs 3rd. Pattat leads at the white flag. Riddle looks low out of 2
and makes the pass going into turn 3. Coming out of turn 4, and
taking the checkered flag is Jason Riddle, but after a post race
inspection, Riddle is DQ'ed for Illegal Components; therefore,
the win goes to Danny Pattat #20 for his second win. The rest of your
top 5 is 2nd, your points leader, Jimmy Gore #21, 3rd Tommy McManus
#747, 4th Terry Beard #008, and rounding out your top 5 is Bobby

wondering if you could fill it out everyweek

Welcome Race Fans to the Thunderbird Speedway race recaps for the
week of 4/17/04.  Let's get the action started with the IMCA Stock
Cars.
Heat Winners:  Heat #1: Kevin Sustaire #87; Heat #2:  Phillip Smith
#13; Heat #3: Jason Gore #021
Starting on the pole and leading the field to the green, were Michael
Thomas in the Thomas Racing Chassis #571 and Phillip Smith in his #13
Lucky 13 Racing IMCA Stock Car.  Leading the first lap was the #29
car of Dane Fuller.  He was followed by Phillip Smith, Michael
Thomas, Tim Hardman, and the fifth place car of Brandon Kirkland.  On
Lap 3, Michael Thomas spun between Turns 1 & 2 and hit the front of
the #98 of Chris Davis.  Also involved in the pileup, were the cars
of Jason Gore and Brent McKnight.  All four drivers were unable to
continue.  When the race resumed, Phillip Smith took the lead, but a
lap later, he would lose the lead to Tim Hardman.  Smith would fall
into the third position behind Brandon Kirkland.  Hardman and
Kirkland continued to run first and second at halfway, with Terry
Pritchett coming from a straightaway behind to move into third.  The
top 3 would remain the same until Lap 19 when Pritchett catches
Kirkland and Hardman.  Pritchett passed Kirkland coming out of four
to take the white flag.  Kirkland would battle back and regain the
second position going into Turn 3.  Coming out of Turn 4 and taking
the checkered flag for his first ever feature win, driving the #2 was
Tim Hardman.  The rest of your Top 5 would be Brandon Kirkland in
second, Terry Pritchett, Randy Miller, and the fifth place finisher
Kevin Sustaire.  The hard charger of the night was Kevin Sustaire who
was supposed to start on the pole, but chose to start at the rear of
the field.  There were no claims, but the Top 5 were checked by IMCA
officials.

SIMS Modifieds:
Heat Winners:  Heat #1:  Harvey Jackson #13; Heat #2:  Stan Kotwitz
#97

Starting on the pole and leading the field of 17 cars to the green
was Harvey Jackson driving the #13 Triple J Motorsports, Davis Race
Cars SIM Modified.  On the outside of Jackson, was the #28 of Dustin
Sprouse.  As the green flag flew, Jackson jumped out to the lead, but
would spin sideways in Turn 1 and knock the #17 of Tommy Davis into
the infield.  Davis would continue on in fourth, but Jackson would
fall all the way back to 11th.  With Jackson falling back, the lead
would be taken over by Dustin Sprouse.  On Lap 2, Jackson would spin
completely out in Turn 2 and fall to last.  Sprouse would retain the
lead followed by Tommy Davis in second.  On Lap 6, the #82 of Max
Eddie Thomas would move up to second and begin to pressure Sprouse.
On Lap 10, the first lead change of the night would take place, when
Thomas passed Sprouse for the lead.  Sprouse fell into second,
followed by Randy Miller in third.  On Lap 12, Miller would overtake
Thomas for the lead but his lead was short-lived, as Thomas would re-
pass Miller with two to go.  At the white flag, Thomas still lead,
and coming out of Turn 4 and taking his fifth win in a row, driving
the #82 Thomas Racing Chassis, Excel SIM Modified would be Max Eddie
Thomas.  Finishing a close second, for the third time this season
would be Randy Miller in the #821, third was Tommy Davis, Sr. #17,
fourth was the #182 of Brian Stowers, and fifth place was Dustin
Sprouse #28.  The hard charger of the night was Randy Miller who
moved from his starting position of 14th to finish second.

Mini Stocks:
Heat Winners:  Heat #1:  Robert Mayfield #6; Heat #2:  Danny Pattat
#20; Heat #3:  Leslie Garrison #92

Starting on the front row of the Mini Stock feature and leading the
field of 20 to the green was Robert Mayfield driving the #6 and
outside of him was the #96 car of Bob Morris.  When the green flag
fell, Mayfield jumped out to the early lead, followed by John White
in the #68.  On Lap 3, the first caution fell as the #911 of Billy
Crocker, Jr. stalled on the backstretch.  On the restart, Mayfield
would jump out to the lead followed by Trent Dorman and Bobby
Ortega.  Ortega would overtake Dorman for second on Lap 5, bringing
Danny Pattat along with him for third.  On Lap 9, Dorman would spin
in Turn 1 while running fourth.  On Lap 10, Mayfield leads but Ortega
gets alongside him going down the backstretch but Mayfield holds his
ground and retakes the lead at the white flag.  Ortega challenges
Mayfield one more time coming out of two, but Mayfield holds on to
the lead.  Coming out of Turn 4 and taking the checkered flag, would
be the #6 of Robert Mayfield, but after post-race inspection,
Mayfield would be disqualified for the second week in a row, handing
the win to Bobby Ortega #07.  Finishing second was Danny Pattat #20,
third Jimmy Gore #21 (driving the #15), fourth was John White and
rounding out the Top 5 was the #95 of Randy Morris.  The hard charger
for the Mini Stocks was Jimmy Gore who started last because his #21
car blew up in the heat race and he had a third place finish.

IMCA Modifieds:
Heat Winners:  Heat #1:  Cody Smith #18; Heat #2:  Ricky Haney #23;
Heat #3: Shane Killingsworth #45; Heat #4:  Max Eddie Thomas

Leading the field of 24 to the green was Shane Killingsworth in the
#45 Killingsworth Racing Modified.  Starting outside Row 1 was the
#44 Town East Ford, Z&Z Motorsports Modified of Jason Troutman.  As
the green flag flew, Killingsworth would jump out to the lead
followed by Troutman.  On Lap 3, Troutman would lose second place to
Max Eddie Thomas.  The first caution would be on Lap 3 when Charlie
Smith #516 would spin and be hit by the #777 of Kevin Long.  Both
drivers' nights would be done.  On the restart, Killingsworth, Thomas
and Troutman would still be the Top 3.  On Lap 7, the second caution
would come out as the #11 of B. Franklin would spin in Turns 1 and 2
and stall.  On the restart, Killingsworth takes the lead followed by
Thomas and Troutman.  At halfway, Killingsworth still leads with
Thomas in second.  A battle for third would ensue going into Turn 3
with Jason Troutman and Ronny Sigman.  Sigman dived under Troutman,
but Troutman goes to block and there was contact between the two
cars.  Troutman's left rear was cut, and he spun off of Turn 3 and
goes to the pits.  His night was over.  On Lap 11, Thomas passes
Killingsworth for the lead and brings Sigman with him.  On Lap 12,
Sigman takes the lead from Thomas and begins to check out.  At Lap
15, Sigman still leads Thomas, but now by half a straightaway.  With
two to go, Sigman has gained a straightaway lead over Thomas.  Sigman
takes the white flag but is in heavy, heavy lap traffic.  Thomas
closes in a little bit, but it is not enough.  Coming out of Turn 4,
taking the checkered flag for his second feature win of the year
driving the #48 Z&Z Motorsports, Town East Ford, Enduro Power
Coating, City Motor Supply, McGibboney Chassis Modified was Ronny
Sigman.  Rounding out the Top 5 were Max Eddie Thomas in second,
third was Shane Killingsworth #45, Cody Smith #18, and the #20 of
Terry Pritchett takes fifth.  As Sigman celebrates in the Town East
Ford Racing Victory Lane, we see the first motor claim of the 2004
Racing Season as the #34 of Chance Kimberling claims the #18 of Cody
Smith.  The hard charger of the night was Ronny Sigman who started in
8th position and won the feature.

Street Stocks:
Heat Winners:  Heat #1:  Cody Sample #20; Heat #2:  Justin Strain
#64; Heat #3:  Matt Deaver #1; Heat #4: Ricky Spindle #79

Bringing the field of 24 cars around to the green was the #1 of Matt
Deaver.  Outside of Deaver was the #64 of Justin Strain.  As the
green flag dropped, Deaver jumps out the lead, followed by the fast-
moving Ricky Spindle and Dave Emmons.  On Lap 4, the first yellow
would fall for the #25 of Guy Lambert.  Lambert's night would be done
as he takes the #25 to the pits.  On the restart, Deaver would jump
back out into the lead followed by Spindle and Mike Nabors #28.  On
Lap 7, the second caution would fly as the #971 of David Phillips
would spin in Turn 2 and stall which would kill Tommy Davis, Jr.'s
bid for the lead.  Davis who had just taken the lead wuold be moved
back to third on the restart.  On the restart, Deaver retakes the
lead, followed by Spindle and the fast approaching Tommy Davis, Jr.
On Lap 10, a hard battle for second would begin as Spindle and Davis
would battle for the position.  On Lap 12, Davis would finally
overtake Spindle and begin his hunt for the lead.  On Lap 13, Davis
takes his #17 to the high side of Deaver and begins his hunt for the
lead.  Deaver leads with 2 to go as Davis still follows closely
behind.  Davis looks high once again going into Turn 3 and gets
alongside Deaver but Deaver regains the lead, and leads at the white
flag.  Deaver leads out of two, but Davis looks high for his third
and final time and passes Deaver coming out of 4.  Deaver gets a good
bite also, and both would drag race to the finish line, and taking
the checkered flag by a bumper for his first win of the season,
driving the #1 Deaver Racing Chassis street stock would be Matt
Deaver.  Finishing a close second, Tommy Davis, Jr. #17, third was
the #79 of Ricky Spindle, fourth was Cody Sample #20 and fifth was
your points leader Clint Frideley #82, who won the B-Main and started
13th in the field.  Your hard charger would be Tommy Davis, Jr.
driving the #17 Davis Race Cars, Arrow Signs, Tommy's Towing,
Marshall's RV, RCP, Canton Paint & Body, Pro Trak Street Stock.
Davis finished second for the third time this season.

Hi race fans.   Welcome to the race recaps for this weekend's races
at Thunderbird Speedway on 4/3/04.  Well, let's get started with:


IMCA STOCK CARS
Your heat winners were: Heat #1 Matt Bagley #32, Heat #2 Brandon
Kirkland #42, Heat #3 Jeff Turner #044. Now on to the Feature.

Starting on pole and leading the field of 25 to the green flag was
Matt Bagley, driving the #32 Bagley Racing Stock Car.  Starting
outside of him was Ricky Worthington in the #00 Ricky's Towing,
Worthington Racing Monte Carlo Stock Car.  The green flag flew and
Bagley would jump out to the early lead, followed by Ricky
Worthington.  On Lap 2, Bagley would get his first challenge for the
lead as Tommy Davis, Jr. in the #17 would look low in Turn 1.  Bagley
would hold Davis off until Lap 3, when Davis passed Bagley for the
lead coming out of Turn 2.  Bagley fell into 2nd, followed by Brandon
Kirkland in the 3rd position.  Tommy Davis, Jr.'s brother, Chris
Davis, who started 7th in his #98 would be on the move.  Chris Davis
would take 3rd place from Bagley, after Kirkland had passed Bagley
for 2nd.  The first caution flew on Lap 5, when Kevin Sustaire in the
#87 Thoroughbred Chassis Stock Car would get spun in Turns 3 & 4 and
stall.  Sustaire would continue on, but would have to start at the
back of the pack.  When the green flew again, Davis would continue
where he left off and remain in the lead.  In 2nd place was Brandon
Kirkland, Chris Davis in 3rd, and Terry Pritchett in 4th.  On Lap 7,
a battle for 3rd would begin between Chris Davis and Pritchett.
Going into Turn 3, Pritchett would run hard into the turn and hit
Davis in the left rear quarter-panel and knock Davis up the track.
Davis would fall in 6th place.  The second caution of the race would
come out when the #41 of Chad Norris would get spun going into Turn
1.  Behind the crash, the #87 of Kevin Sustaire would get spun into
the tractor tire.  Both drivers' night would be done.  The green flag
would fly on Lap 9 with Davis Jr. still leading.  Your Top 4 at
halfway would be Tommy Davis, Jr., Brandon Kirkland, Terry Pritchett
and Randy Miller, who had moved up from his 11th place starting
position.  On Lap 13, a battle for second would ensue as Pritchett
starts pressuring Kirkland in Turn 1.  Going into Turn 3, Pritchett
dives low, bouncing through the infield and hitting Kirkland in the
driver's door and taking second place.  Davis Jr. was still the
leader.  On Lap 15, Randy Miller takes 3rd place from Kirkland.
Kirkland falls into the 4th position, as a battle for 6th place
ensues with Jeff Sustaire #872 pressuring the #98 of Chris Davis.
Sustaire bumps Davis down the backstretch and passes Davis in Turn
4.  With 3 to go, Davis Jr. leads, but is followed closely behind by
Terry Pritchett and Randy Miller.  Going into Turn 3, Pritchett hits
Davis in the left-rear quarter-panel and forces him up the track to
take the lead.  The field is given the two to go signal.  As the
leaders head into Turn 1, Davis dives low under Pritchett, but is
tapped by Miller and forced into Pritchett, knocking Pritchett up the
track.  Miller dives under Davis and takes the lead.  Davis falls
into second, as Pritchett falls back to last.  The white flag falls
with Miller and Davis battling for the win.  Going down the
backstretch, Pritchett slows and waits for the field.  As the leaders
pass, Pritchett forces Davis off the backstretch and Kirkland takes
over second.  Coming to the checkered flag, your winner, driving the
#66 D&D Racing Stock Car, Randy Miller, who was making his first
start of the 2004 season.  The rest of your Top 4 were Brandon
Kirkland #42 in second, third was Tommy Davis, Jr. #17, and fourth
goes to Jason Gore #021, your Thunderbird Speedway points leader.
Rounding out the Top 5 was the #044 of Jeff Turner.  After the race,
Pritchett and Davis exchanged words in the infield, but both drivers
calmed down and went to the pits.  The hard chargers were Randy
Miller 11th to 1st and J.D. Berryhill going from 16th to 6th.   No
claims.


SIMS Modifieds:
Your heat winners were:  Heat #1: Tommy Davis, Sr. #17  and Heat #2:
Brian Stowers #182.

Feature:
The green flag would fly on the field of 14 with Randy Miller #821
taking the early lead.  Your point leader and feature winner for the
past 2 weeks, Max Eddie Thomas, who started deep in the field, would
begin his charge for his 3rd win in a row.  By Lap 5, Thomas would be
in 3rd position.  Randy Miller still leads, closely followed by the
#182 of Brian Stowers.  At halfway, Max Eddie Thomas makes his move
and passes Randy Miller on the outside for the lead.  Thomas would
take the lead for good.  With 5 to go, Miller spins in 3 & 4, but
cuts through the infield and falls into the third position in front
of the #37 of Richard Strain and the #17 of Tommy Davis, Sr.  With 2
to go, Thomas leads by half a straightaway.  At the white flag, with
Thomas still leading, Stowers and Miller battle for second.  Coming
to the checkered, taking his third win in a row, Max Eddie Thomas,
driving the #82, Thomas Racing Chassis, Excel SIM modified.  Rounding
out the Top 5 were the second place finisher, Brian Stowers #182,
third and making a sweep of the Top 3 for Thomas Racing Chassis was
the #821 of Randy Miller, fourth place went to Richard Strain in the
#37 and fifth position belonged to Tommy Davis, Sr. #17.  Thomas gets
the hard charger award and hard luck award of the week after flipping
5 times the previous night at GPS and coming back to win his third
feature in a row.

Feature:
Leading the field of 20 to the green, starting on the pole was the
#115 of Ronnie Bradley.  Starting outside of Bradley, in the Davis
Race Cars, McCully Racing #18 was Rider McCully.  When the green
flew, Bradley takes the lead with McCully second. The #07 of Bobby
Ortega follows close behind.  The first caution of the race would
fall as the #115 of Ronnie Bradley spins coming out of Turn 2 and is
hit hard by #36 Trent Dorman.  Jimmy Gore #21, spins and hits
Dorman.  Both Gore and Dorman's night would be done.  Ortega takes
the lead on Lap 2.  Bradley falls into second.  Moving up fast, your
current mini stock points leader, who started 10th, Danny Pattat
would be in 4th on Lap 3.  On Lap 4, the second caution flew as the
#911 of Billy Crocker, Jr. would tap the #18 of Rider McCully in the
left rear quarter-panel and spin him out in Turn 3 in front of the
field.  McCully would get clipped in the left-front tire and break
the left front spindle.  His night would be done.  As the race
resumed, Ortega jumps out into the lead with Pattat taking over
second.  Moving up to third would be the #6 of Robert Mayfield, who
started 16th.  At halfway, Pattat takes the lead and sets sail.
Ortega falls into second, followed closely behind by Mayfield.  With
2 to go, Pattat still leads.  Ortega and Mayfield continue to battle
for second.  The checkered flag falls and once again, taking the win
is the #20 of Danny Pattat.  The second place finisher is Bobby
Ortega #07.  Finishing third, but later DQ'ed was the #6 of Robert
Mayfield, which moved the #747 of Tommy McManus into third.  Your
fourth place finisher was the #47 of Chris Kent and Jessica Wetzel
#16 rounded out the Top 5.  Danny Pattat, the current points leader,
is also the hard charger recipient of the week, after starting 10th
and winning the feature.

Feature:
Leading the field of 24 to the green driving the #44 Town East Ford,
Z&Z Motorsports Modified was Jason Troutman.  Starting outside Row 1,
driving the Hometown Plumbing, Smith Racing #18 was Cody Smith.  The
green flag falls and Troutman jumps out to the early lead, followed
by Smith.  The first caution would fly on Lap 3 when the #8 of Danny
Fields would spin in Turn 2 and stall.  On the restart, Troutman
jumps out to lead again followed by Smith and Oran Lunsford.  Your
points leader, and Week 1 feature winner, Ronny Sigman, driving the
#48 Town East Ford, Z&Z Motorsports, Enduro PowerCoating, McGibboney
Chassis car would start 11th and would be working hard trying to get
to the front, but would be held up by traffic.  On Lap 5, a battle
for the lead heats up as Cody Smith starts pressuring Troutman for
the lead in Turn 1.  For two weeks in a row, Troutman's quest for a
win would be brought to an end yet again as he was spun in Turn 3 by
Smith.  The yellow would fly, not for Troutman, but for a spin in
Turn 1 by the #8 of Danny Fields.  Troutman would have to restart in
20th position.  Smith leads the field to green with a slow restart.
The field bunches up behind him and the #72 of Richard Wray would hit
the car in front of him when Wray stopped, the #01 of Charles
Spangler would hit Wray, and both would spin and bring the yellow
back out.  Spangler and Wray would both continue.  On the restart,
Smith leads followed by the #516 of Charlie Smith and the #22 of
Jason Gore, who was quickly moving to the front.  Sigman is mired
back in 8th place.  Your 2003 track champion, Max Eddie Thomas' bad
luck would continue, as he would spin in Turn 1.  He would; however,
continue.  At halfway, Cody Smith still leads with Jason Gore taking
over second place and fast approaching.  Charlie Smith would fall
into third, and Terry Pritchett runs 4th.  The final caution would
fall on Lap 15, when Danny Fields would get the hat trick as he spins
his #8 in Turn 3.  His night would be over as he takes his car to the
pits.  On the restart, Cody Smith still leads followed by Gore.  With
two to go, Charlie Smith, tries to pass Gore on the high side, but
can't, and he falls back into third.  At the white flag, Smith leads
by 5 car lengths.  Coming out of Turn 4 and taking the checkered flag
in the Hometown Plumbing #18 modified, was Cody Smith.  Jason Gore
#22 would be second and third would go to last week's winner, Charlie
Smith #516 and fourth would go to #34 Chance Kimberling.  Rounding
out the top 5 would be Ronny Sigman #48.  Your hard charger award
goes to #22 Jason Gore who started 10th and finished 2nd.  Gore's
second place finish moves him into a tie for the points lead with
Ronny Sigman.  No Claims.
Street Stocks:

Feature:
Bringing the field of 24 cars to the green, driving the #17 Davis
Race Cars, Tommy's Towing, RCP, Marshall's RV, Canton Paint & Body,
Arrow Signs Street Stock was Tommy Davis, Jr.  Starting outside front
row, was the #37 of Michael Gilliam.  The green flag falls and Davis
and Gilliam battle for the lead.  Both drivers run side by side down
the backstretch, with Davis taking the lead in Turn 3.  Gilliam falls
into 2nd, followed by Ricky Joe Spindle.  On Lap 3, Davis still leads
with Spindle 2nd, and moving up fast through the field and taking 3rd
position would be the #025 of Keith Jackson.  At Lap 5, Davis still
leads, but a battle for second heats up as Jackson starts to pressure
Spindle for the second spot.  Going into Turn 3 on Lap 6, Jackson
passes Spindle for 2nd.  At halfway, Davis leads by a straightaway,
and Jackson is stuck behind lap traffic.  Moving into third, is the
points leader, #82 Clint Frideley, who started 11th.  On Lap 15,
Davis still leads but Jackson clears lap traffic and starts his hunt
for the lead.  Jackson's attempt would fall short.  Davis takes the
White flag and leads by a straightaway.  Cody Sample moves into 4th
place.  Coming out of Turn 4, taking the checkered flag for his first
win of the season, driving the Davis Race Cars, Tommy's Towing, RCP,
Marshall's RV, Canton Paint & Body, Arrow Signs Street Stock was
Tommy Davis, Jr., your 1998 and 1999 Track Champion.  Finishing
second, was the #025 of Keith Jackson in his Davis Race Car.  Clint
Frideley #82, current points leader, would finish third, followed by
the fourth place car of Cody Sample #20, and the #79 of Ricky Joe
Spindle rounds out the Top 5.  Your hard charger goes to David
Montgomery #87 who started 16th and finished 6th.

Well Folks, it's time to recap what happened this weekend at
Thunderbird Speedway on 3/27/04. We will get started with:

IMCA STOCK CARS
Your Heat Winners Were Heat #1 Brandon Kirkland #42, Heat #2 Jason
Gore #021 and Heat #3 Tommy Davis Jr. #17
In the feature, starting on the Pole and leading the field of 21 to
the Green was Scotty Brown driving his #44 B&B Concrete Stock Car.
Starting outside of him was Brent McKnight in his #83 McKnight Racing
Stock Car. The Green flag flew on the race, and it didn't take long
for the racing to start. Coming out of Turn 2, the first of many
Yellows would fall as Toby Grissom in the #02 would spin and stall.
His night was over. Brown lead the Field back to green, and again it
didn't take long for the Yellow to fall when the #830 driven by
Jason Wisel would spin on lap 2 going into turn #1. He would stall,
so we would try it again, and the green flew one more time. Brown
leads to the Green again and one more time the crashing would start
as #34 J.D Berryhill in his Davis Race Cars, Kimberling Racing Stock
Car would get turned around in turn 2 and bring the yellow out.
Behind him, Tommy Davis Jr. #17 driving his Davis Race Cars,
Marshall's RV, Arrow Signs, RCP ,Tommy's Towing, Canton Paint & Body
stock car would get spun by the #66 of James Cannaday, Davis would
get clipped by Cannaday and bend his left front spindle. His night
would be over as the #17 would go to the Pits. So after 3 yellows in
a row, we would try one more time to get going. The green flag
would fly on lap #4 and Brown would take the lead and Start his Run
to the win. Brown jumps to the lead on the restart and started to
pull away from the field. Brandon Kirkland would take over 2nd and
try to catch Brown. Moving up would be Jason Gore who started 11th
in the field and would be up to 7th Jeff Turner who started 10th
would be up to 4th on Lap 9. The final Yellow of the night would fly
as Matt Bagley would spin and stall in turn 2. At the yellow your
leader was Brown, 2nd Kirkland, 3rd Turner, 4th Gore, and your hard
charger, at the time, coming from 21st in the field, Chris Davis
driving the #86 Davis Race Cars, Tommy's Towing Stock Car was up to
6th place. Davis whose #98 Davis Race Cars Stock Car broke the
tranny in Heat race #2 was coming to the front. On the restart,
Brown would again jump out front and again began to pull away. At
halfway, Brown leads, Kirkland is 2nd and Turner is 3rd, but Turner
spins in turn 3 off the turn and fall way back to the back of the
pack. On lap 12, a battle for 5th starts to take place as Terry
Pritchett pushes in turn 1, and Chris Davis looks under him. They go
into 3 and Pritchett goes up the track again, and Davis tries going
under him, but there is a problem : The #15 of Justin McGlocklin
runs into the turn to hard and hits Davis in the left Rear and spins
Davis into the infield No Yellow and No Black Flag. Davis rejoins
the field 2 laps later, 2 laps down. At lap 15 Brown Still Leads as
Kirkland runs 2nd and Gore 3rd. Pritchett is now 4th Scotty Brown
leads by a straightaway with 2 to go. Jason Gore passes Kirkland
for 2nd. The white Flag flies, and Brown leads, and at the
Checkered. your Winner: Driving the #44 B&B Stock Car is Scotty
Brown. The rest of your top 5: 2nd goes to Jason Gore, 3rd to Terry
Pritchett, 4th Brandon Kirkland and 5th place to Stan Kotwitz #97
No motor Claims.

SIMS Limited Modifieds
Your Heat winners were Heat #1 Bobby Morgan #90, Heat #2 Max Eddie
Thomas #82
This Race went Caution Free with Max Eddie Thomas making his way to
the front over the 16-car field. Thomas was followed by the second
place car of Randy Miller. Both had to start in Row 5 and came to
the front. Thomas got the lead by halfway and never looked back, as
he pulled away for his 2nd win in a row. He was in the #82
Unlimited Racing Products SIMS Modified. The rest of the top 5
were: 2nd for the second time in a row Randy Miller, 3rd Brian
Stowers #182, 4th Richard Strain #37 and 5th Terry McCommas #6. Max
Eddie Thomas also leads the points over Randy Miller by two points,
so it looks like it will be a great season for the SIMS Limited
Modifieds.

IMCA Modifieds
This was a pretty good race. Starting on the Pole, and leading the
field of 24 was Oran Lunsford #77 driving his Lunsford Racing
Modified. Starting outside him was the #38 of Ray Carrier. When the
Green Flag dropped, Lunsford took the lead, but not for long as
Jason Troutman, driving the #44 Town East Ford., Z&Z Motorsports
Modified took the lead and began to drive for his first Feature Win
of the Year, but others would have something to say about that
because the Yellow would fly on lap #2 when the #123 of Scott Stewart
would spin in turn 4. On the restart, Troutman jumps to the lead
again followed by Ray Carrier and Charlie Smith. That's when Ronny
Sigman, Scotty Brown, ands Jason Gore began their march to the
front, as all 3 started to work their way throw the traffic. Gore
gets to 3rd on lap #9. This is when a battle began for the lead, as
Charlie Smith takes his #516 to the top and starts to work on
Troutman who is working the low side. Smith takes the lead at
halfway and starts to take sail and starts to pull away. Troutman
falls into 2nd as Jason Gore #22 closes in at lap 13. Gore looks
under Troutman in Turn 3. Gore makes Contact with Troutman's #44 and
spins him into the infield. No yellow and no Black Flag again.
Troutman's night is over as he parks in the infield. Gore takes 2nd,
but is well behind Smith who has opened up a straightaway lead on
Gore as the white flag falls, and the battle for 4th began to heat up
as Ronny Sigman in the #48 battles with Scotty Brown #144 coming off
Turn number 4 and taking his First Ever IMCA Modified Feature,
driving the #516, Town East Ford Z&Z Motorsports Modified is Charlie
Smith. The rest of your top 5 are: Coming in 2nd Jason Gore #22,
3rd Ray Carrier #38 and winning a very close battle for 4th is Ronny
Sigman #48, Scotty Brown #144 rounds out the top 5 in 5th. After
the Checkerd Smith Spins into the infield and hits the Tractor Tire
and began to start doing donuts. There are no claims. Your Hard
Charger was Ronny Sigman who Started 11th and finished 4th. Good job
Ronny


MINI STOCKS
Your Heat Winners were Heat #1 Danny Pattat #20 and Heat #2 Jimmy
Gore #21.
This was probably the best race of the night. Leading the field of
20 to green was Trent Dorman, driving the #36 Luther's Chassis Ford
Pinto. Starting outside him was Chris Kent in the #47 Kent Racing
Ford Mustang. When the green dropped. Dorman jumps out to the early
lead, Kent in 2nd. Moving up fast is Jimmy Gore #21 and Danny Pattat
#20, who was last week's winner, and who again won at GPS on Friday
night. Gore and Pattat would get to 2nd and 3rd by lap 4. Kent
would fall to 5th. Bringing out the only yellow of the night on lap
5 would be the #95 of Randy Morris who spins in turn 4, and stops in
front of Kent and Bobby Ortega #07. When the field is shown the
lineup, Ortega is upset and says he should be in 6th, but the track
says he should start at the back. Ortega is later told to go to the
pits for holding up the race. He would finish in 18th place. When
the green dropped, Gore and Pattat would start to work on Dorman,
who had opened up a good lead before the yellow. At halfway, it's
Dorman, Gore and Pattat Chris Kent, who was moved to the back after
the yellow began to move back up through the field. With four to
go, Gore looks under Dorman with Danny Pattat stuck in lap traffic.
Looks like it will be a battle between Gore and Dorman, but Pattat
clears the lap cars and starts hunting the lead. With 2 laps to
go, Gore takes the lead, but Dorman battles back on the outside.
They take the white flag side by side coming off 2. Pattat makes it
three-wide as the go down the back straighaway. Pattat noses
ahead, but has to back off for the turn. Dorman and Gore go into 3
side by side. As the come off 4, Gore inches ahead, but Dorman gets
a good grab of the track and beats Gore to the line by a bumper for
his First Ever Mini Stock Feature win. The rest of your top 5 are
2nd Jimmy Gore #21, 3rd Danny Pattat, whose win streak is stopped at
3, 4th Tommy Mcmanus #747 and 5th Steve Hinkle #27. Coming off turn
4, on the cool off lap, Dorman spins into the infield and hits the
tractor tire in excitement.


STREET STOCKS
Your heat winners were Heat #1 Mike Deaver #29, Heat #2 Tommy Davis
Jr. #17, Heat #3 David Montgomery #87, and Heat #4 Dave Emmons #23

Leading the Field of 24 to Green was Matt Deaver driving the #1
Deaver Racing Street Stock. Outside of him would be David Montgomery
in the # 87. When the Green flag dropped, Montgomery jumped to the
lead, followed by Deaver and Davis Jr. Montgomery would get a little
bit of a lead as Deaver and Davis Jr. battled for the lead. Davis
would pass Deaver, but the Yellow would come out on the first lap so
a complete restart would happen, but Matt would be moved to the
back. When the Green fell again, Montgomery would jump to the lead.
Again this time followed by Mike Deaver and Davis Jr. This is how it
would stay until lap 6, when the green and yellow would come out,
but Montgomery and Deaver slowed, but you still race under the Green
and Yellow. Davis Jr. would pass both and take the Lead in his #17
Davis Race Cars, Marshall's RV, RCP, Arrow Signs, Tommy's Towing,
Canton Paint & Body Street Stock. At halfway, Davis leads with
Montgomery and Deaver behind him. On lap 12, Montgomery would began
to pressure Davis for the lead, with Deaver looking on and waiting to
make his move. At lap 15, Davis still leads, but coming out of 2,
Davis hits some water and slides up just enough to let Montgomery
stick his nose under him, and going into turn 3, Montgomery would
make the pass. Davis would fall in at 2nd . At the white, it was
still Montgomery, Davis and Deaver. Coming off turn 4, for the final
time, taking his first win of the year is David Montgomery driving
the #87. 2nd goes to Tommy Davis Jr. #17, the 2-time former Champion
in 98&99; 3rd goes to Mike Deaver #29, and 4th Clint Frideley #82,
who was last week's winner. Rounding out the top 5 was Mike Nabors
#28. Your Hard Charger was Keith Jackson in the # 025 Jackson
Motorsports, Tommy's Towing Street Stock. After starting in row 7,
Jackson would end up 8th after having his tire cut with 2 to go while
in 5th , and after winning B main #2.
