5/15/04. Well let's get started!
IMCA STOCK CARS
Your heat winners were Heat #1 Justin McGlocklin #15 Heat #2 David
White #31 and Heat #3 Kevin Sustaire #87
now the Feature
Starting on pole and leading the field of 22 to the green was Allen
Vance, in the McGlocklin Racing #24. Starting alongside him was Kevin
Sustaire in the #87 Thoroughbred Racing Chassis stock car. When the
green flag flew, Sustaire jumped to the lead followed by Vance. At
lap 3, Sustaire still leads followed by Brandon Kirkland and Terry
Pritchett. On lap 5, Sustaire leads by a straight over Kirkland, but
the only yellow would fall on lap 6. On the restart, Sustaire jumps
out to the lead, followed by Kirkland and a fast moving Tommy Davis
Jr. At halfway, Sustaire leads. In 2nd is Davis Jr. Jeff Sustaire
pulls off with a flat tire on lap 11. A battle for the lead takes
place as Davis dives under Sustaire going into turn one. Davis makes
the pass, and starts his run for the win. On lap 13, Brandon Kirkland
passes Sustaire for 2nd, and brings Terry Pritchett with him. On lap
17, Davis leads now by a straightaway, followed by Kirkland and
Pritchett. Randy Miller passes Sustaire for 4th. With 2 laps to go,
Davis leads Kirkland and Pritchett. As the white flag comes out,
Davis leads still by a straightaway over Kirkland. Coming out of Turn
4, and taking the checkered flag is Tommy Davis Jr., #17, in the
Davis Race Cars, Tommy's Towing, RCP, Canton Paint & Body, Pro-Trak,
Arrow Signs, Marshall's RV Stock Car. 2nd goes to Brandon Kirkland
#42, 3rd Terry Pritchett #112, 4th Randy Miller #66, and rounding out
the top 5 was Kevin Sustaire #87. As Davis takes pictures in victory
lane, we have our first Motor Claim of the 2004 season in the Stock
Cars and 2nd Claim this year as Kevin Sustaire claims your Feature
Winner, Tommy Davis Jr. Davis also gets the Hard Charger award, as he
started 12th and won.
SIMS Limited Modifieds
Your heat winners were: Jason Sartain #117 and Alex O'Hanlon #114.
Now, to the feature. Leading the field of 18 SIMS Limited Modifieds
to the green was Anthony O'Hanlon, #114. Starting outside was Jason
Sartain, #117. As the green flag flew, O'Hanlon jumped to the lead,
followed by Sartain. On lap 3, a 3-way battle for the lead starts as
Tommy Davis Sr. dives under the two leaders, but is put in the
infield. Davis rejoins the field in 6th. O'Hanlon leads at lap 5. At
halfway, O'Hanlon still leads, followed by Richard Strain #37 and Max
Eddie Thomas #82. On lap 10, Thomas dives under O'Hanlon for the
lead, and he passes him out of turn 2. On lap 12, the yellow flies
for oil on the track. On the restart, Thomas leads Strain and Davis,
who is now 3rd. As the white flag flies, a battle for 2nd heats up as
Davis looks under the #37 of Strain. Going into 4, Davis looks low
again, but hits oil, and flies off the track and falls back to 7th.
Coming out of turn 4, and taking his 6th win of the year is Max Eddie
Thomas #82. 2nd goes to Richard Strain #37, 3rd is your point leader
Randy Miller #821, 4th goes to Alex O'Hanlon, and rounding out your
top 5 is Brian Stowers #182. Max Eddie Thomas is the hard charger for
the SIMS.

Your Heat Winners were Heat #1 Max Eddie Thomas #82, Heat #2 Shane
Killingsworth #45, Heat #3 Roy Capps #12. Now to the feature:
Leading the field of 24 cars was Dennis Zimmerman in the #127 Z&Z
Motorsports, Town East Ford Modified. Starting outside was Max Eddie
Thomas #82. As the green flew, Zimmerman jumps out to the lead,
followed by Thomas and Killingsworth. In the middle of the pack, the
racing is hard. On lap 1, Jason Troutman falls out when the
driveshaft falls out. On lap 2, the first yellow flies, as Cody Smith
hops wheels with your point leader Ronny Sigman, which breaks the
left front tire rod on Sigman's car. Sigman stops on the back
straightaway, and is towed in. The night is over for the #48 Z&Z
Motorsports, Town East Ford, Enduro Powder Coating, City Motor Supply
Modified. On the restart, Zimmerman still leads, and is now followed
by Killingsworth. On lap 3, Killingsworth takes the lead from
Zimmerman, who falls into 2nd. Thomas Blackwell, #015, is now 3rd. At
lap 5, Killingsworth is pulling away. Blackwell now runs 2nd, and
Zimmerman 3rd. Killingsworth leads at halfway, with Thomas Blackwell
running 2nd. On lap 12, the yellow flies as a 4-car crash haults the
race, when Jason Gore #22, Lee McCullough #3m, Oran Lunsford #77 and
Ed Weatherby #35 crash in turn 1. All 4 are done for the night. On
the restart, Killingsworth leads Blackwell and Cody Smith #18. On lap
14, Blackwell makes his move and passes Killingsworth. who is trying
to win 2 in a row, for the lead, and sets his sights on the win. On
lap 16, Dennis Zimmerman #127 pulls off while in 5th. On lap 17,
Blackwell still leads, with Cody Smith now in 2nd, Killingsworth in
3rd, and Jeremy Willis #07 in 4th. With 2 to go, Blackwell leads by
almost a straightaway, and Charlie Smith has taken over 5th. Coming
out of turn 4, and taking his first win of the year is Thomas
Blackwell #015. The rest of the top 5: 2nd goes to Cody Smith #18,
3rd to Jeremy Willis #07, 4th Shane Killingsworth #45, and rounding
out the top 5 is Charlie Smith #516. Hard charger goes to Cody Smith
#18, who started 6th row and got 2nd. No claims.
STREET STOCK
Your Heat Winners were Heat #1 Cody Sample #20; Heat #2 Dave Emmons
#23; Heat #3 Mike Nabors #28; Heat #4 Tom Johnson Jr.
Leading the field of 24 to the green was Dave Emmons #23. When the
green dropped, Emmons jumps to the lead, followsd by Mike Nabors #28.
On lap 2, Mike Nabors takes the lead from Emmons who falls into 2nd,
followed by Matt Deaver #1 in 3rd. At lap 5, Nabors still leads, with
Deaver now in 2nd and Emmons 3rd. On lap 7, the yellow falls as Cody
Sample wheels hops the #025 Of Keith Jackson. Sample spins after he
re-fires the car. He comes around and hits Jackson in the back
bumper, and is blackflagged for rough driving. His night is done. On
the restart, Nabors jumps back to the lead, but Deaver is running
hard to pass Nabors. On lap 9, Deaver passes Nabors, who falls into
2nd, with Emmons 3rd, and Mike Deaver 4th. On lap 12, Matt Deaver
leads wth Dave Emmons now 2nd, Mike Deaver 3rd, and Nabors now 4th.
On the white flag, Deaver leads, but Emmons looks low but can't make
the pass. Going into turn 3, Emmons looks again, but can't do it.
Coming out of 4, and taking his 3rd win in a row is Matt Deaver in
the #1 Deaver Racing Chassis Street stock. The rest of the top 5 are:
2nd Dave Emmons #23, 3rd Mike Deaver #29, 4th James Bardin #07, and
rounding out the top 5 is Mike Nabors #28.
MINI STOCKS
Your heat winners were: Heat #1 Bobby Ortega #07; Heat #2 Jimmy Gore

Leading the field of 14 to the Green was Danny Pattat #20. Starting
outside was the #68 of John White. When the green fell, Pattat jumped
out to the lead, followed by White. On lap 2, a battle for 2nd heats
up as they go 4 wide down the back, but there isn't enough room and
Chris Kent #47 is forced down into Bobby Ortega #07. Both spun into
the infield. Kent saves his and gets back on track in turn 3, but
Ortega has to cut through the infield. Close call for all drivers. On
lap 5, Pattat still leads, with Jimmy Gore in 2nd. The yellow falls
for the #911 of Billy Crocker Jr. who spun in turn 2 and stalled. On
the restart, Pattat retakes the lead with Gore still 2nd. The 2nd
yellow falls when Trent Dorman, last week's winner spins in turn 3
and stalls. On the restart, Pattat still leads, Gore is 2nd, and now
3rd is Jason Riddle who started last after racing at Greenville. With
2 to go, Pattat leads, but Riddle is now 2nd. Close behind, Gore now
runs 3rd. Pattat leads at the white flag. Riddle looks low out of 2
and makes the pass going into turn 3. Coming out of turn 4, and
taking the checkered flag is Jason Riddle, but after a post race
inspection, Riddle is DQ'ed for Illegal Components; therefore,
the win goes to Danny Pattat #20 for his second win. The rest of your
top 5 is 2nd, your points leader, Jimmy Gore #21, 3rd Tommy McManus
#747, 4th Terry Beard #008, and rounding out your top 5 is Bobby
Ortega #07.
