I first met David Dellucci on March 13th, 1999...during Spring Training. I was on vacation from my native Colorado at the time, and met him on my last day in Arizona. I had told him I would see him in Colorado that May and to look for me. When they came to Coors Field that May, he did look me up and we got to hang out together. When they came again in September of 1999, it was after David had his season-ending wrist surgery. Once again, we got to hang out together and got to know each other better.
Ever since then, I have seen David every so often, catching up with him when possible.
David is a very wonderful man...a true gentleman, downhome, friendly, yet shy at times, funny, sweet, charming, sexy, and of course, a super athlete with a very awesome work ethic. He has always impressed me with his amazing dive catches in the outfield and with his never-ending smile and positive attitude, both on the field and off.
He was traded from the Arizona Diamondbacks to the New York Yankees, to the Texas Rangers, and now, to the Philadelphia Phillies. I miss him very very much, and as much as his leaving Arizona broke my heart, I will continue to show my love and support for David forever, no matter where he plays or what he does.
If you are a fan of Looch's or the teams he has played for, please join me in showing support for my sweet friend David. Also, show your support for David and hurricane victims in the South by checking out his website: http://www.catch22forblue.org/index.html and also by making any donations and showing your support with a blue Catch 22 For Blue bracelet. You may also join my David Dellucci community on LiveJournal.com. It is called Delluccifans.
I LOVE YOU DAVID MICHAEL DELLUCCI...NOW AND FOREVER!!!
