It's been pretty quiet lately for the Darren McCarty fan base. Time to ramp it up! Let's encourage the playoff performance! Stir up excitement! Go Mac! Give us a hat trick! Single goals are great, and I felt you get another one. But I want to buzz over three in a game! You've done it before. You are working with the best guys in the world, whether they are Red Wings or Griffins. (Same thing, essentially.) Saturday I escaped the frantic buzz of the wannabe Spartan Nation (It's Pax Spartana, a time of peace between U-M and MSU) to go to the Alma Mater for some peaceful golf for the first time this season. I really wanted to hear how things were with the Griffins. I discovered that I can no longer get WOOD 1300 on the campus, since the HD changeover. Does anybody out there know how
to do it, short of using a computer? Anyway, let's support our favorite hockey player. We all agree he's THE BEST! Right? Go Mac!
Patience is the sweetest gift. The healing will come. Rejoice in what we have, for health does not come easy. We just think so. One assist is better than no assist, and tonight more small victories will come. A bit at a time is how we live life. One day at a time is fine. We will enjoy it, and what we have, for we have our darling Darren intact and playing. Each moment is a chance to enjoy life, our bodies, minds, and fellow travelers in the world. We will all enjoy this day, and overwhelm ourselves with hockey while we can. Support those Griffins. And pray for Haydar's lady, that she will beat throat cancer. Cancer is like a mean looking hockey team. It looks tough, but it's all show. Just eat your raw almonds every day and thank God for the healing. It WILL come! I send Love to all who
wrestle with that.
Sometimes our daily walk in life just takes perseverence, as the universe works
to teach us time, space, and patience. We are all anxious to see Mac back on the
ice, as Mac is as anxious to play. But there is a Purpose to this that we don't
know. The army says, "It's not your place to reason why; it's just for you to do
or die." So we will wait, and look forward to a wonderful second half of the
season, and know that our Mac will be there for a fantastic playoff run
afterwards.Meanwhile, all good, healing, warm thoughts to Mac and to all our Red
Wings.
A joyeux Noel to all wingnuts out there, and to Darren, McCarty fans and families, and to Mac and his loved ones. Think hockey! Delete all negative thoughts from your minds, and see what happens! Dynamite!
There is some talk about the local sports teams suffering from the recession more severely than other parts of the economy. If that is true, the first to go would be the last on the list, which means our boy Darren McCarty. I would like to see order prevail here, as we may have to cut back on some things in life, but there is no need to eliminate them. You don't have to see all the games, for example, but go see some. In the end, we vote with our pocketbooks. Another point is that no matter what the economy is in general, each person has a personal economy that functions separately from the general trend. Just do not panic. Plan as many hockey games as you can afford, and we sill support each other through this. Hockey is too valuable a commodity to let go. The sports venue is over and
above physical needs. The game of hockey develops character and adds immeasureably to quality of life. This counts for six year old girls or 66 year old grammas. Don't throw away hockey games in an effort to save money! You will lose in the end! Our Red Wings are the best of their kind in the world, and our Darren McCarty is the best of his kind in the world. Let's support them fully!
Remembering that our thoughts are prayers, and we are always praying, let's concentrate on perfect healing now, because we want to see more of Mac skating, shooting, scrumming, yes? Wouldn't that make a nice Christmas gift for our favourite hockey player? That includes healing of the mind, emotions, and spirit. It works if you work it. What you do in this world matters only to you. But the way that you do it is recorded eternally on the skeins of time and space. That is the true legacy of a life. Do something good for someone and you feel so good, because you have made a difference for yourself as well. So if you love hockey, give back, or even pay forward. Give it a shot and see if it works for you. Happy December, all of you!
The Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign is admirable, and is out of reach for many, including myself. If I had the cash, I would be the biggest contributor. The most I can do is a Don't feel bad if you can't put money into it. There are other ways of making it all work. Consider donating your time or other resources. I buy a lot of my clothes for daily workouts at the Salvation Army thrift stores. The money from sales of non-food goods goes to support the Salvation Army work to help alcoholics and drug addicts get their lives back together again. It is very rewarding to contribute, even in a small way. For more ideas, just ask at a Salvation Army outlet. You might be surprised with unusual ways to help. For years, I have played on holidays with the Salvation Army band. It's
fun and it helps.Bottom line is, improve yourself by finding a way to give back for the life you are able to lead. Just do it!
Good for Emily! Six is perfect! Get her on the ice. There's a rink every square mile, and ice time is cheap. D-Mac is doing very well, and inspires many of us. There are girl leagues now, so no more barriers. Be a good dad and takes that child to a hockey game. Our Red Wings are going up against the Habs Wednesday night. Let the kids see magic on ice. They will have a whole team of heroes. Pav moving the puck. Hudler scoring within a second of hitting the ice. The Old Grind Line better than ever. There's a reason why we are Hockeytown. Enjoy it!
Tonight is the last of a long road trip for our champions. We will be glad to see them home. Go Christmas shopping for a street hockey set, or do as I do if you don't have a street. I have hallway where I annoy my elderly neighbors with a hockey stick and a tennis ball. I enjoy it! If you don't want to buy skates (Kids grow fast.), rent them. Nothing wrong with Daddy-daughter hallway or street hockey. That's building leadership.

there. He is a spark plug; an igniter. Ken Holland is expecting that

We (Royal we)are so impressed with our intrepid hero, but would suggest a more appropriate rock band to emulate, since Def Leppard never was that good, and appears to have worn out its welcome with Wingnuts. The art of getting healthy is mostly mental. The ice awaits! Someone out there BEGS to be smeared into the boards! Go Mac! Exceed yourself, and know that you are sincerely loved for who you are as well as who you can be! A legacy is a lasting thing, so make it good. I take my coffee, pastry, and crossweord puzzle daily under the sign of someone who spent 22 years on the ice, made the Hall of Fame, went out in a blaze of glory, but lives on in the livees of tiny hockey players and hungry patrons every day. Is that a legacy, or what? That's Tim Horton. Keep building
yours.
Lots of excitement for the new season! Get healthy! Stay healthy! That's the key to back-to-back Stanleys. My word! It will take a wheelbarrow to carry all the bling around! But the bottom line is to be able and willing to play every second at your very best because you can. Everybody is involved. The thing about enjoying solitude is having someone to share it with. We all share. The Red Wings are a very special team, and we are so blessed because they are ours. And Darren McCarty is our special blessing. Rock on!
