It's nearly August, and only a month to go before we ramp up the ice time. I am looking forward to getting back in skates, myself, and hope that everyone is involving chidren and grandchildren in the joy of hockey. Watching the tiny mites and novices is a happy affair, like watching baby ducks on a frozen pond. That's how they get the babies interested; by making it fun. Getting into Munn Arena at my alma mater, MSU, gave me a joy as well, with the green atmosphere and the tennage players so stunning in their skills. At all levels, we have so much talent for teaching and coaching. It's a can't miss! And many of the arenas furnish equipment for those who don't have the cash to lay out to become a high maintenance hockey parent. Hockey parents are a special breed, though most of
them will not acknowledge that. A special word for Roberta and Craig (God rst his soul) for producing the very special person that D-Mac has become. And he has only just started! There is something very special in this young man. I wait breathlessly for it to rise to the surface. And it all starts with that passion for our game. Hide and watch! Go Mac!
