BOSTON -- Six games into his tenure as Bruins coach, it's a little early for Dave Lewis to be feeling any heat.
But if there are any doubts about his coaching ability after the Bruins opened the season with just one win on a five-game road trip, there was at least one vocal Lewis defender yesterday at the TD Banknorth. And he wasn't even in Boston's locker room.
Calgary forward Darren McCarty spent the first 11 seasons of his 13-year NHL career in Detroit. There, he played under Lewis, who served as an assistant for 15 years and as head coach for two seasons with the Red Wings.
