MARQUETTE - One passion thwarted, Darren McCarty is pursuing another
with the same fire that he demonstrates when he plays for the Detroit
Red Wings.
McCarty, who turned 33 on Friday, visited Marquette last week with his
band, Grinder. While McCarty and the rest of the National Hockey
League has been off the ice because of an owners' lockout that
canceled the season, that doesn't mean the British Columbia-native has
been idle.
