HI, I am new to this board so please forgive any
mistakes in posting. Does anyone out there know if you can
still buy new Dan Wesson products in The Peoples
Republic of Kalifornia now that the new "Reasonable Gun
Laws" have gone into effect? Has Dan Wesson submitted
guns for testing to make sure they are "safe" under
our Commissar's (Govenor)new law?<br>Thanks for the
info.<br>Ron

I wish you luck, I wouldn't mind having one again
myself. Sold mine to get another Dan as it was an interim
model with quality issues. Wish they still made them as
they were the best for cast bullets. Have a 7460,
Pointman and 732FP on order now, selling off much of the
non DW stuff, but still would like to find a 375.
Recently, Auction Arms had a 375SM BF single shot but I
missed it. I still have 375Sm IHMSA brass.<br>Mike (Mr.

That's interesting. Went there and put on the
whole show, catalogs, guns everything. Kim, who
actually does the buying didn't want to take on the line
at that time but liked what he saw. Everytime I go
back "TC Shopping" I make sure they know that I there
to answer any questions and we usually get into long
discussions over the new products. I met one of their folks
at a recent match and he for sure was interested.
The old Dan Wesson, yeah I guess I'd agree in that
statement. An awful lot of bad blood and disgruntled dealers
and customers came about with the poor quality and
lack of support back in the late 80's, early 90's. If
we couldn't be counted on then our sales wouldn't be
500% over projection in some lines like they are now.
We can't make them fast enough, it seems. Mike

Mike,<br><br>You might want to pay Kittery
another visit. I just called to talk to them about a 6"
Comp .357 barrel. They didn't have one used and when I
asked if they had a new one the said they didn't think
they would be doing bussness with Dan Wesson. Reason,
"Can't count on them being around."<br><br>Also could
you send me Bill Jeffery's e-mail off line? I need to
send him some info about Camp perry, doing a revolver
match next year.<br><br>Thanks!

The fixed barrel versions were a last ditch
attempt to keep the business going by the original. They
weren't bad looking and were inexpensive. Recently,
Jerry's or someone was selling 357's, some NOS dirt cheap
as concealment guns. The new DW company has no plans
to do it again. Mike (Mr. DW)

I've owned, carried and shot my Dan Wesson 15-2
for over twenty-five years now. I have long since
lost count of just how many rounds have been through
it, but the number must be more than 10,000. It was
the only handgun that I owned for nearly ten years
and I wore out my old Lyman All-American turret press
feeding it.<br><br>I have two of them now, and wouldn't
part with either for diamonds.<br><br>Most of my
shooting is with commercially cast 158 grain lead bullets
and a moderate charge of AA#5 or Unique that gives me
around 950 fps from a four-inch barrel. It's supremely
accurate and easy on the gun and my wrist. For small game,
plinking, and even self-defense (if necessary) it's really
all power that I need.<br><br>Glad to have found some
other folks that favor the Wessons as much as I do!

Am I the only person in the world out here who
thought the fixed barrell Dan Wessons were nice guns? A
friend of mine aquired a five inch .44 a few years back
that was the nicest DW ive ever seen, and it took a
back seat to no other revolver manufactured by anyone,
anywhere.

Word from the Factory,<br><br>We don't expect to
compete pricewise with Springfield's Brazilian-made
product, but will put our 1911's up against any of their
production models for accuracy, reliability, and durability
any day of the week. We had our first big match
competition appearance this weekend at the NY
IDPA<br>Championship, and the guy who won first place ith our Pointman
Major did so running away, and with a gun he had never
seen before that match!<br><br>Regards,<br>Bill

Evening, I am the New England Sales and Marketing
for Dan Wesson as well as a technical rep helping
them with new gun development. I am currently in the
midst of developing the 7360 Silhouette version for
handgun silhouette and will soon be working with the new
32 caliber Field Pistol versions with Lothar Walther
barrels. If any one has any comments or concerns that they
would like to pass on the factory or visa versa ust let
me know.<br> Now on the topic of PPC guns, you
should go to the factory and see Norbs 4" 445SM PPC
gun!<br>Mike

I recently discovered that my Wesson becomes a DA
only pistol if you screw the grip screw in to far. I
did this with a pair of Houge Mono grips. Sad thing
is that i did it prior to the first stage of a PPC
match and missed the 50 yrd target and all the time
trying to figure out why my pistol wouldn't go boom.
