Greetings LizSummers82, 'LeeField54[?!]' [if I "Follow!"]
:-) hereI
It's been QUITE a few years now [and my Memory sure ain't what it used to
be...] but I got a Barrel Wrench, Cyl Gap (.006) Guage, and about a 3" x 5"
'Instruction Manual' [on the back page, lower right, it says "Form #SF1M 3/97",
for whatever that might be worth] which included a 'Breakdown Picture' /
Parts List for My Model 15-2, 'Target' [.357, with 4" bbl], FROM Dan Wesson
Firearms. Now that I've gotten it out of the safe, I also recall that I
actually
sent it in for a repair-- the Sideplate [L.Side] had a SMALL... crack in it,
which had apparently been welded at one time. It was probably OK, but I
didn't like it that way. The gun is now a BIT... 'Odd Looking,' because the
bbl,
cylendar, and replaced side plate are all a very nice dark blue; the rest of
the gun [ R side, top, trigger guard, and Part of the L. side] are more of
a... Dark 'Maroon,' or Dark 'Rust' color! Certainly doesn't effect the
'shootability,' though! I'd also forgotten that I had the trigger lightened to
a
Very Sweet 3.5 lbs (SA, it's 11.8, and Very Smooth in DA).
I believe 'Dan Wesson' may have changed hands since then, but have you TRIED
"Wesson" or 'Dan Wesson''s own SIte?
The only way you might be able to tell the 14-2 from the 15-2 is perhaps the
Rear Sight. My little 'Manual' calls the '14-2' a 'Service' Revolver,' and
the 15-2 a 'TARGET Revolver'-- So, if you have an Adjustable, 'Target'
type-sight you should have a 15-2. It doesn't say it "Exactly," but it
'indicates,
in so many words' that the 14-2, the Service Revolver, does NOT have an
adjustable Rear Sight.
None of the 'Markings' anywhere on the gun seem to be of any help,
either...[?!] On the r-side of the frame, mine says:
"DAN WESSON ARMS" / "MONSON, MASS, USA" / "3436xx" and on the underlug of
the bbl, close to the frame, also on the r:
"DAN WESSON ARMS / 357 MAGNUM CTG"
(FYI-- My 15-2, and probably regardless of whether you have a 14-2 or 15-2,
the 'HKS Model 10-A Speedloader' fits perfectly).
You might Also try Numrich-- for both a Diagram AND Barrel Wrench. I don't
BELIEVE there's a 'Source' that offers as many different Parts, Breaksowns,
Etc., Etc. AS Numrich... and regardless of whether you have the 14 or 15, the
'Parts Breakdown' is going to be virtually same, I think, except for the rear
sight.
BTW-- I'm a bit curious-- Why do you Need a Bbl Wrench? Do you have a
different Bbl you want to Switch to? Or, is it just to 'Tighten or Loosen' the
Bbl you have? Did I mention that the Cylendar Gap tool I got FROM D.W. says
".006?" At least THAT 'part' doesn't Have to be 'Official' D.Wesson, now that
you know what the gap should be! So, if nothing else, and if you didn't know
that, at least I've helped you with ONE 'item!!'
Finally, if you have NO luck WITH 'Dan Wesson,' OR 'Numrich' [which I
believe IS your best bet... Oh-- Brownells might be a good source to try, too],
or... have you contacted any Gunsmiths in you... 'Area?'
Anyway, I was going to say that if "None of the Above" work for you [and,
depending partly on What youre trying to do] PERHAPS we could work something
out where I could 'Lend You' [Gulp..!] MY Bbl Wrench; and I could certainly go
to a copy shop and enlarge the little 3 x 5" Parts Diagram, and send a copy
of that to you [and / or any other pages that I think might be of use to
you...]. Heck, the whole thing is only about 30 pages long; at only about 10
cents a copy it'd be 'Cheap and Easy' to just make a copy of the Whole 'Manuel'
for you!
I hope I've been of some help to you; I don't know anything about Your D.W.,
but especially since the trigger work, it occurs to me that my 15-2 is One
of my Absolute Best handguns! Especially in 'SA,' and the sights adjusted
properly, the gun's capable of about 1/2 inch groups at 25 yards! Hell, the
Gun
is Better than I am, by an 'Embarrasing' margin!! Writing all of this makes
me want to go shoot the thing... NOW!! But, it's cold and drizzling up at
'My' local Gun Club / Shooting Range! (And... having lived in Santa Barbara
for the last 20+ years has turned me into-- if you'll pardon the expression!--
a "Weather Pussy!!" I expect that 45 - 50 degrees, a 10 or 15 mph wind, and
a lite drizzle-- in the middle of winter-- would be like a 'Great Day! to go
shooting' for people in much of the country!)
Anyway, I've Rambled FAR long enough! IF I can be of any help, after you've
perhaps tried a few of the sites I've suggested, Send me some more Info--
maybe a Phone Number and / or an Address; I'd need to "Build up a little
'Trust!' " before sending my Bbl Wrench to ANYONE I don't know!
Good Luck!! And, Keep Your Powder Dry! (And / Or, one of my 'Favorites'--
"Shoot Low; They May Be Crawlin'!")
Regards,
Lee Field

Ps-- I don't have time to do it Now, but, I wonder if a Close Up Pic of MY
D.W. would help YOU any... I'd also need to 'Experiment' a bit-- I don't have
the Greatest Digital Camera in the world, and I'm not even sure 'How Close
Up' I can shoot... but, if it'll help, I can give it a Try 'Down the Road a
Piece!' flfiii
