If you still want to shoot iron sights and your eyes are getting a "little "
old for that kind of stuff try what is called a biopter. It's a pinhole
device that target shooters used to improve their depth of field (front
sight to rear sight). It either clips on to your shooting glasses or has a
suction cup. By looking thru this pinhole your depth of field is improved
like stopping down a camera lens when you go to a smaller f-stop, or when
you squint thru the small hole made by pinching four fingers together. It
really works for punching holes in paper with the old style sights. Nothing
wrong with optics, mind you, have many myself, but there is something
special about drawing down over the top of your pistol barrel. Biopters and
relatively cheep and easy to try. Have fun.

Old eyes are not a problem if you mount a 2x or 4x scope on the DW. I can
shoot mine like I had 20 year old eyes again. These great revolvers are
really fun to shoot with a scope. Try it; you'll like it.

Congratulations on the new "toy". I am on my third DW, having had one
22 with an 8" ventheavy and 2 .357's. My current Pistol Pac "baby"
that I bought new came with 4 barrels and now has 6 ( I added two 6"
in stainless - looks nice on the blued frame with stainless trigger,
hammer, and cylnder lock)... I am sure you will find the DW a great
shooter. The last time I went, I was plinking with a rent-a-cop.. he
had a new H&K in 40... nice gun.. but he couldn't hit a barn with it
past 10 yards. The DW is easy good to 25 (indoor range limit). Well
easy if your eyes are still younge.
