There seems to be some confusion here. The barrels are the same
inside dimention .357 mag vs. Max. The cylinder of the .357 Max
won't change when the barrels are swapped. I would expect that if,
and that is the big word IF, the barrel threads are the same the
barrels can be swapped. Now as to the shrouds? I know the Max had a
larger cylinder window. (I bored a few cylinders the short time I
was with DWA in Palmer. The .357 Max and the .357 Mag cylinders were
the same stock. Only the Max started and finished out longer.)Was
the frame larger in other dimentions? (I never worked with frames so
I don't remember such details.)
