Auto parts stores carry valve lash gauges of all sizes or go to
hardward store and buy shim stock.

I just got a Dan Wesson .357 with interchangeable barrels for
Christmas, but it does not have a shim. I know the shim is supposed to
be .006". Can I have one made or better yet is there somewhere I can
order one? I looked on ebay and found one but it is pretty best up and
the guy wants $33 for it. My concern is that you can see where the
barrel has repeatedly been over tightened onto the shim he is selling
and I doubt it is still reading .006".
If anyone can help me out, I can be reached at
dennismichele_ shaw@yahoo. com. Thank,
Dennis
