Thanks for the ID. If I may ask, what are the identifying
characteristics that make it a 15-2? I have not been able to find
much info on the differences in models.

I have tried lowering the rear sight all the way and still hits
high. Next step is to file the the front a few thousandths.

You have a model 15-2. You should be able to bring the point of impact down to the point of aim by adjusting the rear sight down....
