Semi-final (Thursday 24th January 2008)
----------
Nice winner, nice loser:
+ ANA IVANOVIC [4,DF] d. DANIELA HANTUCHOVÁ [9,EF], 0-6 6-3 6-4
I have uploaded to my website my new TV-report of this match, which I
recently acquired on DVD from Tennis Videos International
<http://www.users.bigpond.com/tennisvideos1/>.
I have written up a detailed description of each and every point, and
also transcribed parts of the commentary, and the players' on-court
interviews before and after the match.
Daniela led 6-0 2-0* (40/40), and also had a break-point at 3-2* in
the third set - which went with serve until Daniela at *4-4 netted a
forehand volley that should have been an easy putaway.
Now that I've actually watched the match: it was still a great
performance from Daniela - in this match as well as the previous.
She did make some blatant unforced errors at times, but I don't think
I've ever seen her hit the ball better, serve better, or move better,
than she did at the Australian Open 2008. Her problem was - as
always - between the ears.
