GENERALI LADIES LINZ (Linz, Austria; indoor Decoturf; WTA Tier II)
==================== http://www.generali-ladies.at/
Daniela had a nice-looking first-round match against the beautiful
and sexy Elena Vesnina. But sadly the right-rib injury she sustained
at Zürich flared up so seriously that she not only had to retire
from the match; she also had to go to hospital with internal
bleeding, respiration-problems and water in her lungs! :scared:

Brief interview with Daniela (in Slovak) at 10:37:
http://makeashorterlink.com/?V20425A1E
-----------
First round (Wednesday 25th October)
-----------
- Daniela Hantuchová lt. Elena Vesnina [Q],
3-4 retired (right-rib injury)
[Vesnina *2-1, *3-2, 4-2*, *4-3]
Daniela had injured her rib in her first doubles-match at Zürich the
previous week, when Mary Pierce hit her with a forehand. Of course
Daniela went on to reach the Zürich singles-final, so it's strange
that it flared up at Linz.
A_S: "she really seemed to be strugling with her ribs and took a
medical timeout after 3 games. Shame, but she really did look
injured sadly  Her movement was non existant (well some would
argue.. but anyway ) and she was strugling to serve, very
passive basically, and i think she got a bit stroppy at mother at
the final change of ends "
It seems that Daniela's injury is much more serious than first
thought!
matt: "Interview with her in Slovak newspapers showed shocking news.
She must have a rest for 3 weeks at home out of tennis and must
absolve many inquiries in hospital. She even got infusion after
match against Vesnina and bleeding was also inside her body (not
only outside) - she has internal lungs and intercostals injury. She
said in interview it's the most serious injury in her career."

pixy75: "In Slovak daily sport, Dani's mom Marianna said Dani
suffered internal injury. Now she has serious respiration problems
and has water in her lungs."
But according to pixy75 on 1st November, "her recovery seems fine"
and she's planning to start her 2007 season at Auckland (week of
1st January).
