Just few reactions....

Yes, a good sign, but unfortunately only a sign...Daniela was leading
5:2 against Serena in 1st set and she played really well,
but...Serving at 5:3 she played a drop shot almost under the net. OK,
bad choice, bad luck...Shockingly, in the same game she tried that
drop shot again - and again she put it in the net - much higher than
the first try, but still she lost the point - she lost the game and
actually the whole set and match. What a nice help from Daniela, said
to herself Serena who was very pleased when her opponent helped her to
win practically lost set. Daniela beat herself 5:7, 3:6 - it was
extremely painful to watch, especially when you feel in your bones
that probably something like this is going to happen.
I saw the final set of the match Serena - Mauresmo 4:6, 6:0, 2:6.
Serena lost but she was putting everything in every shot, she was
fighting for life - she lost, but she did not beat herself. You can
lose but at least you put everything in it - very simple. Is it too
much to expect from Daniela that she would do the same? I think not...

Hmm, your obsession with Russian or Ukraine players is getting
blind...I guess you like them, their looks, because as far as their
tennis they are destroying the woman tennis. They keep hitting the
ball like hell - no matter what, no variability, no improvisation,
just like machines. Yes, including Sharapova - but I guess that
Dementieva is the worst example. You don't like Mauresmo but she is
playing with more variability than the Russians...
Men are playing with more power than women, but when you compare
tennis of Sharapova and Federer - Roger is playing more gently than
Maria and also he is looking more naturally than she - the screaming
money-making machine. Who is going to stop her? Mauresmo, Henin or
somebody else?
