Daniela won her opening match in Roland Garos in straight sets. The
1st set was as Andrew expected and as Daniela should always play as a
TOP 20 player. Her statistics were excellent:
71% 1st serve in; 80% won points from 1st serve; no double falts
67% won points from 2nd serve;
10/6 winners/unforced errors;
59% receiving points won;
2/2 break points conversion;
3/5 net approaches;
26/12 total points won
It almost could not be better and faster...

However, the 2nd set was quite different:
60% 1st serve in; 40% won points from 1st serve; !!!, no double falts
60% won points from 2nd serve; (second serve better than first !?!?!)
17/17 winners/unforced errors;
53% receiving points won;
3/6 break points conversion;
11/15 net approaches; (the only improvement and pretty good efficiency)
31/30 total points won !!!

I did not see the match; it is possible that Daniela's opponent
improved in 2nd set and basically Daniela forgot how to serve or how
to win a point from 1st serve served in. 31/30 total points won means
that basically Daniela was lucky to win the set or there was (almost)
no difference between the two players in this set. It's not very
important when you win a match, however, it might indicate that some
bigger troubles can be expected when Daniela's opponent will be a
better player than Lourdes Dominguez Lino...

In any case, GOOD START, Daniela !!!Congratulation !!! Great 1st set,
average 2nd, altogether enough to go through.
