Re: Miami: Andrew's tournament-preview

Very nice wishes from you - but my guess is that they are too
far from the current state where Daniela stands...
The first match against Ondraskova which Daniela barely won in
three sets just proves it.
The next opponent is not Safina as expected - but Eleni
Danillidu from Greece - she is more pleasant player for Daniela,
although it is not sure that it will help...I am (almost) 100% sure
that Daniela would lose to Safina, as she is not able to beat any
Russian player lately. Against Eleni - there is a chance, but not
big - I would give Daniela 25% chance to win this match.
I don't think Gisela Dulko has a chance to beat Petrova and I
guess Daniela has the same chance, i.e. no chance (less than 1%).
It's sad, but Daniela seems to be going down again, maybe it's just
my (wrong) feeling, we'll see in this and next tournaments.
I don't expect from Daniela any good results untill grass
season, so I am going to take these tournaments (hard court
tournaments in the USA and clay tournamnets in Europe) as her
preparation for Wimbledon. In this respect I am not going to be
dissapointed if my pesimistic guesses would come true.

This time it was very though, Daniela barely won....It might or it
might not suggest something....

And she will not play her here ...That's good, that's very good - I
don't think Daniela in current form would win a set agaist Safina...

Dreaming, dreaming....I would be also happy to see Gisela vs
Daniela, but I don't think that it is possible in reality right
now...just in dream.

Your 2nd wish will not happen, it would be a miracle if any of the
rest would...although I do believe that miracles happen.

Although Sugiyama has improved lately, she won easily her 1st round
match, however, against Russian duo - Myskina-Safina it's going to
be though, 80% for Russians....

Unfortunately you are right, man; now this is the reality and it comes the clay, the worst possible surface (as a player, I hate it too). I couldn't believe...

She seems to have lost her momentum after Australia. I' ve heard she's gonna play Fed Cup so that could be a good for her tennis and her country Magic...
