You are right - Daniela is free to decide. However, in both Fed Cup
and Hopman Cup Daniela would play also singles (two and one match,
respectively), so she could be still focused on her singles career
while playing in team. In addition, when playing in front of own
crowd, she would have better chance to beat some players she would
not beat on regular WTA tournament - and that victory could be
important for her in upcoming matches against the same opponent.
Like Dominik Hrbaty - he lost to Ljubicic on ATP tour something like
3 times last year, he could not beat him and in the finals of Davis
Cup, in Slovakia, he finally beat him. I guess that victory and
feeling was better than winning a Grand Slam tournament.

dani has started the new season well i think,already in the frist week she has gone up 2 ranking places to 17,a semi and a quarter final in her frist 2...
