Daniela has won the fed cup and the hopman cup for her country,what
else is there to prove that she should carry on playing for
slovakia?..in the fed cup she won it almost single-handed,it was like
maradona winning for argentina the world cup in 1986,her great wins
over mauresmo and conquita-martinez proved it,what other current
slovakian players would have won those matches?,Daniela gave her
sweat and blood so much so that she had nothing left when she flew to
la for the end of season championships. in the hopman cup she had to
come back from a set down,and as we have seen lots of times,she is
one of a few players that can lose a frist set 6-2,6-4 etc and still
come back and win,i have tapes of some of her matches were she has
been totally outplayed in the frist set then she regroups herself and
wins the next two 6-1'6-2...vaidsova had a esay win against her
because once again Dani had to come back from 5-3 down,saving a match
point in the process,she once again showed her fighting heart to win
7-5 in an epic 3 hr match in the aussie heat,anyone would have been
drained of energy the next day,I'll bet anyone the next time she
plays vaidsova it will be much closer...you can never write daniela's
will to win off,she beat patty scynder recently in 3 sets,once again
she lost the frist set,patty having won their last match 6-1,6-2,you
think dani cares?,she goes out and wins in the 3rd set 6-4...and who
cares if vaidsova won 3 tournements in a row?,they were all tier
4!!!..look at anna smashova,she has loads of titles but they are 99%
t4s,come the slams and she is out in the 1st or 2nd rd because she is
not used to playing good players,not the average ones that populate
the tier 4,average in the tennis world,Daniela's one and only trophy
a tier 1,is wroth all of smashnova's and vaidsova'a put
together..even in Dani's darkest hour ,when eveything was going
wrong ,she still did'nt go down to a teir 4 tournement..some said at
the time it was foolish not to do so,but then you cant understand
bravery for what it is if you say that,Daniela is a foolishy brave
player..too brave for her own good sometimes, it takes guts and an
iron will to have done what Daniela has done,to fall so spectaculary
from nu 5 in the world to 54 and claw herself back to nu 17 is not
easy,if she goes out in the 1st rd in australia it wont be the end of
the world,she has already been to that dark place and survived it.
