when I tried to download it, but then resumed from that point when I
tried again):

-----------
First round (Tuesday 30th May)
-----------
First Set:
HANTUCHOVÁ *@*@* * 6
DOMÍNGUEZ_ _____*_ 1
The match started at 11:18 CEST on Court 7 - which was not televised
on BBCi, so I followed live scores at www.rolandgarros.com.
Hantuchová serving 0-0: 30/0, 30/15, 40/15, held.
Domínguez Lino serving 0-1: 15/15, 30/30, 30/40 (BP), broken.
A nice efficient start by Daniela - no wasted break-points here! :-)
Hantuchová serving 2-0: 30/0, 30/15, 40/15, 40/30, held.
Domínguez Lino serving 0-3: 0/30, 15/30, 15/40 (2 BPs), broken.
Hantuchová serving 4-0: held to love.
Domínguez Lino serving to stay in the first set at 0-5: 15/0, 30/15,
30/30, 40/30, held.
Aww - no double bagel! :-(
Hantuchová serving for the first set at 5-1: 15/15, 30/15,
40/15 (2 SPs), 40/30, Daniela won the first set at 11:38 (20m).
It was even more one-sided than 6-1 implies - no deuces, no need for
me to worry about whether writing "ad D" would refer to Daniela or
Domínguez Lino! ;-)
Second Set:
HANTUCHOVÁ @___@* *@
DOMÍNGUEZ_ _@*@__*__
Domínguez Lino serving 0-0: 30/0 -> 30/40 (BP), broken.
Hantuchová serving 0-1: broken to love.
Sometimes when you win a first set so easily, you let up in the
second. But it's a dangerous thing to hand over the momentum to your
opponent, as Daniela found against Shinobu Asagoe at Wimbledon 2003
(Daniela won the first set 6-0, but was crying on court as she went
on to lose 10-12 in the third after squandering a host of
opportunities).
Domínguez Lino serving 1-1: 15/0, 30/15, 30/30, 40/30, held.
Hantuchová serving 1-2: broken to love.
And it certainly seems that Daniela has lost the momentum now! :-(
She'd better pull herself together before she finds herself in a
third set.
Domínguez Lino serving 3-1: 0/40 (3 BPs), 30/40, long delay (I think
the scoreboard has frozen)... broken.
Hantuchová serving 2-3: ...40/30, held.
Domínguez Lino serving 3-3: 40/0, 40/30, held.
Hantuchová serving 3-4: 0/30 -> 40/30, held.
Phew! Why does Daniela always have to complicate a straightforward
match?
Domínguez Lino serving 4-4: 0/15, 15/15, 15/30, 40/30, 40/40, ad DL,
Deuce #2, ad H (BP), broken.
In the immortal words of Maria Sharapova: C'MON!!
Hantuchová serving for the match at 5-4:
* {0/0} Daniela needed to hit two smashes against the retrieving of
Domínguez Lino, who hit a lob long off the second one.
* {15/0} Daniela played a nice spreading rally to force Domínguez
Lino into error.
* {30/0} Domínguez hit a "magnifique" off-forehand return-winner.
* {30/15} Daniela played one of those beautiful, flairsome points of
which only she is capable: a pinpoint backhand down the line,
followed by a forehand drop-volley winner.
* {40/15: 2 MPs} Daniela hit a good serve down the centre, followed
by a forehand down the line, and a forehand drop-volley to finish
(Domínguez Lino got to it, but put a backhand wide).
Daniela won 6-1 6-4 at 12:19 (61m), avoiding a rain-delay by less
than ten minutes.
Statistics
----------
Daniela had a positive winner-to-unforced error of 27:23 (Domínguez
Lino 12:14), so it sounds like it was a high-quality match. Daniela
played more aggressively from the first set to the second, with W:UE
ratios of 10:6 and 17:17 respectively.
Daniela came in quite a bit too, winning 14 of 20 points at the net
(Domínguez Lino 2 of 5), especially in the second set where she won
11 of 15 points at the net.
Daniela got 65% of first serves in, winning 60% of the points when
she did so, and 63% on second serve (Domínguez Lino 72%, 55% and
20%). But Daniela's percentage of points won on first serve
deteriorated from 80% in the first set to 40% in the second, as
Domínguez Lino upped her percentage of first serves in from 53% to
81%.
Domínguez Lino served 4 double faults (two in each set), Daniela not
a one.
Daniela broke 5 times from 8 break-points, while Domínguez Lino
converted both the BPs against Daniela's serve.
In points, Daniela won 57-42 (first set 26-12, second set 31-30). I
feel that the scores in points are a more accurate reflection of the
contrast between the two sets than the scores in games.

Daniela 2r preview
------------------
Daniela plays Emmanuelle Gagliardi, who beat Maria Elena Camerin 6-4
6-2 in the first round. :-(
Daniela beat Gagliardi 4-6 6-0 6-4 in their only meeting - sf Indian
Wells 2002 (and we all know what Daniela did in the final!). But
Gagliardi, who turns 30 on 9th July, was on much better form then
than now.
Gagliardi is ranked #98 now, and is having a very poor year compared
to Daniela, with a win/loss record of 12-14 going into the second
round here - a record which includes a lot of matches in qualifying,
and even a couple of ITF tournaments.
This is a golden draw for Daniela to reach the third round, and
beyond. It would be extremely disappointing if she were to blow it -
but that kind of thinking puts extra pressure on Daniela which she
doesn't need.
