Slovakia had a great team this week, with Queen Daniela and her two
lovely handmaidens (the beautiful Domi and the gorgeous Magda), and
they won all their singles-rubbers! :-)

Daniela (after beating Krajicek): "There were really hard
conditions, very slow and slippery clay. I think I had match under
control, especially in third set.

"Why do they change tennis-balls after 9-11 games and not after 7th
or 9th game? I feel sometimes that I hit the hard balls like a
medicine ball, and I can't hit the ball on the other side of the
court after 10th game."

I may be British, but I was delighted to see that Slovakia won this
tie, with victories for Dani and Magda! :-)

I only wish the BBC had had the decency to televise this
mouthwatering tie. They televise every Davis Cup tie involving GB,
but they wasted both their Freeview interactive channels on
snooker! :-||

Slovakia face a play-off in July (draw to be made on 25th April) to
go into World Group II for 2007.
GB remain in Europe/Africa Zone Group I.
