First round (Tuesday)
-----------
+ DANIELA HANTUCHOVÁ [9] d. Zuzana Ondrášková [LL], 6-1 6-0
It took just 49 minutes.

Second round (Thursday)
------------
+ DANIELA HANTUCHOVÁ [9] lt. Olga Savchuk [Q], 6-4 6-3
A shocking result, as I thought Daniela's passage to the quarter-
finals would be a formality against the world #115, especially with
the confidence Daniela is supposed to have derived from knocking
Serena Williams out of the Australian Open, and winning her first-
round match so easily.
Savchuk is an 18-year-old who reached her highest-ever ranking
(#115) this week, and has just reached her first-ever Tier II (or
higher) quarter-final (her only previous WTA Tour quarter-final was
at Tier IV Tashkent 2004). She had never beaten a current top-20
player until Daniela (#14), and I didn't even know what she looked
like until today.
The media just say things like Savchuk "completely outplayed"
Daniela, and "had too much" for her - despite Savchuk's first-round
match (a 2-6 7-5 7-5 win over Stéphanie Cohen-Aloro) only finishing
around 1am on Thursday morning!
From what I've read on General Messages at WTAworld.com, Daniela
just played a very bad match:

Her next tournament will be Doha (week of 27th February).
