There's every chance Clijsters will pull out with a knee-injury, but
with Daniela's recent claycourt form I'm more concerned about her
just getting to the third round.

A qualifier, by definition, has just won three matches on clay, so
we can't really look beyond the first round until the identity of
Daniela's opponent is revealed.

I hope for a sexy second-round match against Denisa Chládková - with
Daniela winning, of course.

And I hope that Davenport will be upset in the first round, not
least because Maria Sharapova is so close to becoming world number
one (Davenport is defending a fourth-round here, Maria a quarter-
final). The French Open is the only Grand Slam that Davenport has
never won (or even reached the final of), and she declined to play
any warm-up tournaments on the red clay this year.
