Amen! Quincy may or may not be the quarterback of the future for us.
But so far he hasn't impressed me enough to say he is. I think if he
has a meltdown vs Carolina (and that doesn't necessarily mean if
Dallas loses) then I think you'll see Jones and Parcells' going
shopping for another qb.

I would agree that it doesn't take a "franchise quarterback" to win
a Super Bowl. It's not a requirement - but it is the most important
ingredient and the hardest to overcome if you don't have it. I'd
rather us have a franchise qb. Whether Quincy is that or not remains
to be seen.

And I'd like to say hello to the group and wish you all a very Happy
2004! Go Cowboys!

Dot

A super bowl QB HAS to be one that makes few mistakes, and has a
history of performance and confidence that EARNS his teammates
respect.

You can't get by without some Ability in that QB!! All of those
late round or "no-draft" QB's listed in other messages had great
talent, but it took time to get it developed and exposed.

Oh, and those SB teams that had a mediocre Qb had a LOAD of talent
in all other positions!!!!!

I'm back from my Christmas trip to Cancun.
Here is my take on the season so far.....Ya'll know I haven't been a
Quincy fan but I'm starting to see he has skills,he's under a lot of
pressure and makes some foolish mistakes trying to make something
happen. He's has EARNED another year at the helm. Our biggest concerns
are at the DE and RB positions. The only reason we will bring in
another QB is to back up the Q-Man and rightfully so. If we had
Burnell or Warner at Qb this year we would not be in the playoffs
because they would have been sack when Carter has escaped. Sorry
Dallas T-Ham is not the RB we need. He doesn't run with the heart of
a top tier RB. All the Defence needs is that pure pass rusher to shut
down the opposing QB. Look for a new pair of legs in the off season
at RB(C. Dillion) and one or more defensive linemen.(Parcells loves
defence) I still think and hope the Boys will make a good showing in
the playoffs. Ya'll have a Happy New Year and Go Cowboys.

Every QB in this league has had to prove them self. No QB that has been drafted out of College or came in from the Canadain leaague or Europe NFL.  Has game out of the gate to win a superbowl. That Qb has to get trust in his players and the player have to  trust him.  You can compare all those stats and you will see none of them were that good.  John Elway didn't get his superbowl ring until his was almost going to retire.  But Denver didn't trade him because he made some bad throws, or made bad decisions.  Quincy ios very promising he stays after meeting to watch film to see his mistakes. Yes he still will go out the next week and have a bad game, but show me a QB Who hasn't had bad  games. Look at last week. St louis got beat by the lions.  The coach pulled the QB, Why? to save him for the playoffs, to pull him out of a bad situation. Who knows. But he had a bad game. It happens. I believe Parcells will keep Quincy because of his work habit, he is learning. He is going to turn into all star QB over night.  Just like all the other QB's in the league he needs time to learn, and he is doing a great job. He wants to be an all star but he knows that he has to go down the same road that all the other greatest walked down,  Some of you may think he sucks, but what if we bring in a veteran and he gets huert first game of the season and is out for the rest of the season what next. It will fall back into Quincys hands becuase he Will be ther next year.   SILVER AND BLUE THOURGH AND THOURGH!!!!!!!!! GO COWBOYS!!!!!!

William Coleman <wcoleman31@...> wrote:
Comparing QC to Aikman, is like comparing a Neon to a Lexus. QC, will never be able to do what Troy did. When Troy came into the league, our team wasn't good. And if you remember, when JJ coached, he made everything simple, cause we didn't have any good players developing. After a few good trades, and plan b free agents, we started to develop something. Troy was a general out there. QC has a long way to go, before he can reach that status.

Just finished reading Tales from the Dallas Cowboys. Written by Cliff and Charlie. Pretty good book.

Everybody just calm down. Some lists are like that where trash
talking like that is allowed and people get used to it. I'm sure he
didn't mean anything by it. The message didn't need to be approved
because he's been a member for a while.

Were there any thoughts on the available free agents? DE Adewale
Ogunleye is a Restricted Free Agent. Depending on what we'd have to
give up, he's a double digit sack guy.
