Re: Our Draft Grades

nah Jason. Tyson Walter probably won't start unless he beats out Al
Johnson and he just might. But they both won't start. Our O-Line
looks like this....
LT Flozell Adams - Javiar Collins - D. Volk
LG Larry Allen - Justin Bates - Torrin Tucker - K. Vollers
C Al Johnson - Tyson Walter
RG Andre Gurode - Matt Lehr - Dan Collins
RT Ryan Young - M. McFadden - R. Tucker

The Offensive Line will be good, no doubt about it. And drafting Al
Johnson adds depth but DE Chris Kelsay was right there man!!!! He
slipped down out of the first round when many mocks, especially the
good ones, had him going in the middle of the first. Kelsay had some
of the best combine numbers as well. Is Al Johnson good? Hell yeah
he is. Did we get a lot of good players in this draft? Hell yeah we
did. We just didn't get the players we needed.

TE Jason Witten was a steal in the 3rd round. One of our TE's have
to be huge. We added Witten, Campbell, and we got Jeff Robinson back
of the Disabled List. Plus we still have Tony McGee. Now though we
will probably have to cut either McGee or Robinson or both. Jeff
Robinson is making 1 mill. this year. That's a lot for a 3rd TE and
L/S. Would McGee be ok with being the 3rd TE? Probably. I love
James Whalen though. He must be about 5th on the TE list right now
though. I hope he makes the team though. Whalen reminds me of
Novacek. And I think Bob Slowikowski is still on the team eh. That
gives a a 6th TE. You remember ol' Bob don't you? One of our 6th
round picks last year who got injured for the year in the pre-
season.

Easy there though with saying our def. has improved. We lost our
starting DT Brandon Noble and starting OLB Kevin Hardy. Who did we
replace them with? We replaced Hardy with Al Singleton. OK. I can
buy that. Maybe we stay the same there with talent. I don't know
much about Singleton. But we haven't replaced Noble yet. And do you
really want Ekuban to start again???? I sure don't! 1 sack over the
whole year? What the hell is that? I could get at least 1 sack!
Hell, most CB's get at least 1 sack LOL. And yes he started all of
the games and played most of the time. 1 SACK!!!! Sure our DB's are
some of the best in the game now. Absolutely. But it don't matter
who our DB's are if our DL can't add pressure. It is common
knowledge that even the best DB's can't hold the NFL WR's forever.
As of right now with what our DLine looks like, the Opposing QB's can
just sit back and wait for a guy to get open. Then what happens to
our DB's? They lose confidence! You don't want a young def.
backfield like we have losing confidence. Then they start making
mistakes on their own. And before you know it, Newman is a bust. We
have to give Newman and Ross some help by putting some pressure on
the QB man. Ekuban aint going to do it.

As for Parcells knowing what he is doing. Wasn't it him who said we
can't do it all in one year? Why the hell can't we? If we had added
a DE and DT in free agency, I think we're in the Superbowl. Right
now we are like a line of Christmas tree lights. We have a couple
lights missing so the whole line doesn't light up. But when we
replace those couple lights (DT and DE) we will light up the whole
damn league. Then the whole team will come together. We start
stuffing the run and the other team can't control the clock. BAM!
We start pressuring the QB, getting sacks for losses BAM! the QB
starts tossing INT's because of it BAM! we get the ball back for the
offense a hell of a lot more because of it. That helps take care of
the off. problems BAM! Our off. line is already ten times better
than last year. Our Rookie QB isn't a rookie anymore. We have a RB
who is hungry as hell. Our WR corps is set and not injured finally
with Bryant, Galloway and Glenn. Our TE's are top notch now. That
leaves FB where we added Richie Anderson and Jamar Martin. Our whole
off. is much better. All we need is a Double Digit sack monster at
DE and a big DT.

By the way, Chester McGlockton is still out there and we will have
about 3 mill. under the cap AFTER we sign our rookie class. I think
we could fit McGlockton and Ray Lucas under that. That wouldn't
leave us any money for a DE but there aren't any good ones left
anyways now.

Yes, we probably did have an A or B draft as for talent but as for
need it was more like a C or D.
