Okay...now, I think Josh Hamilton is great, and I love his story and all that,
but come on...even as Ranger fans, you guys have to admit, the fact that he's
even on the all-star team (let alone a freaking STARTER) is beyond ridiculous.
He's played in 35 games, is hitting .240 with 6 HR and 24 RBI. That's pathetic.
i think everyone recognizes it...in fact it has been one of the big local
stories in the media due to the fact that many people believe he should decline
the invitation. Now i personally would prefer him to decline the invitation to
allow a more deserving player to attend the event, but i'm also not going to
hold it against him if indeed he decides to play because he's the type of guy
who wants to go out there and put on a show for the fans unlike some players who
really don't care or are only interested in gaining the recognition to inflate
their ego's (which is extremely common in the NFL)

Actually...I saw a replay of last years HR Derby a little while ago (which I saw
last year live, plus 2 or 3 times afterwards)...I take back what I said. We need
Josh to be at the All-Star game to be in the HR Derby again.

Yep but before he was suspended he still had good numbers and I actually voted

Ok...I'm confused. People were complaining about Manny being voted in because he
was suspended for failing a drug test. Josh Hamilton wasn't having any type of
special season, has only played like 35 games yet was elected as a starter. I
fail to see the comparison.

The comparison being, both don't have great numbers to be voted in regardless if
you are out due to injury for Hamilton or suspended because of a positive test.

As Hamilton shouldn't have made it, which was the original argument because
his numbers aren't that great and he has missed to much time due to injury.

So...should we also name all of the other players who didn't make it as examples
of players that didn't deserve to go? Because as far as I can tell, that's where
we're at right now. I'm so confused.
Hamilton made it and is a starter. He didn't deserve it. Manny didn't deserve it
and didn't make it (AND WAS SUSPENDED FOR DRUGS!) along with tons and tons of
other players. That's not a comparison.

of players that didn't deserve to go? Because as far as I can tell, that's where
we're at right now. I'm so confused.

and didn't make it (AND WAS SUSPENDED FOR DRUGS!) along with tons and tons of
other players. That's not a comparison.

all that, but come on...even as Ranger fans, you guys have to admit, the fact
that he's even on the all-star team (let alone a freaking STARTER) is beyond
ridiculous. He's played in 35 games, is hitting .240 with 6 HR and 24 RBI.
That's pathetic.

[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
i think there's a BIG difference between not having the numbers to deserve
making an all star/pro bowl versus someone making an all star/pro bowl after
testing positive for banned performance enhancing drugs
now i have no clue why manny is in this discussion but regardless, we all know
hamilton shouldn't be in the all star game and he even considered declining his
invitation but decided to going for the fans...Manny on the other hand failed a
drug test and not only disgraced himself but compromised the integrity of the
game, the guy will NEVER get my vote
