I'm sure in some cases, Yes. But in others, teams have flat out said
to the player...."Accept a pay cut or we'll have to release you",
like the Pats did with (I think) Lawyer Malloy, their defensive
captain, who eventually jumped to the Bills.
Everything's negotiable, my bet is that Galloway accepts a pay cut
and negotiates a longer term, cap friendly contract.
