Wide receiver Joey Galloway is scheduled to cost the Cowboys $8
million against the salary cap in 2004, and the Cowboys will likely
pursue avenues to change that situation, the Fort Worth-Star Telegram
reported. One option is to release Galloway prior to June 1, which
would save the team roughly $2.8 million of that total. If the team
waits until after June 1 to release the receiver, Galloway would
count only $1.8 million against the cap. Galloway has also publicly
said that he is willing to consider a salary reduction to stay with
the team.
