You should get the Avid mechanicals. Easy to adjust and work great. Anybody have a spare rear derailler, just ate mine in the rear spokes and had to walk three miles back to the house in clipin shoes. I'm I the only one that has seen the beaver in the spring gully? Very odd seeing one here in Houston.

Ah fun with Disc ...
Step 1 - get the largest pipe wrench you can find.
Step 2 - start banging your forehead with it.
all kidding aside it's not that bad once you get someone to show you how to adjust them. Just be aware that you will be CONSTANTLY adjusting them. I hit mine ever 2-3 weeks.
I would be happy to help once I am back in town.

I'm pretty sure I know where it is now...I turned around on Cossey just passed where the trees start on a residential dirt drive way...so I guess I drove right past it..I'll go back by Wed. 4-ish, since I know where to look now.

I don't know if its the same trails, but I've ridden some in this area (Cossey Rd). The last time I was out there, it was fairly overgrown. They are pretty much flat and a pretty short ride.
I usually go north on Cutten Rd and west on Rodgers Rd. Just past Sugar Tree Dr, there is a bridge and a creek/bayou that runs north and south. Ride north on the east side of the creek and follow it around to the right. The trails work there way around to Cossey Rd. There are some parking spaces on the west side of the creek (on Rodgers Rd) at the neighborhood pool. If you find additional trails here, please let me know.
Even better - If you ride south from Rodgers Rd and this creek, you will go through new construction to Louetta Rd. Cross Louetta and stay on the east side of the Creek. This goes into some decent trails (from 249 to Cutten Rd along Cypress Creek) and the Roy C Hohl Nature Trail. You can cross Hwy 249 and go to the YMCA side which is a whole other ride.

I was riding on Saturday and found a rear (red) light that looks
pretty new. If your light is missing, shoot me an email with the
description and we can make arrangements for you to get it back.
Thanks,

I live near 1960 and 45.Once upon a time (in the dark ages when mtn bikes were a new thing around here) I had a trail that went from Cypress Station all the way down to the Hardy toll road and a bit further. It was built after the flood control guys gave up a dirt road that followed the creek.Seems the road eroded into the creek.I doubt that after all these years much of the original trail is left.
When I have time I'll walk it--and see if part of it is still being used by somebody. There was a problem with sand and flooding at points.
Perhaps one day we will have a trail that runs from 249 to the Hardy or may be even 59.For the time being however I plan to continue my riding at Cypresswood since more riders are there and the trail is better maintained by the group.I think as a group we are on the right track---led by Kevin. I'm not sure we will ever see a trail that I can build a house next to and say it is good and sweet and I'll defend it forever.
On a brighter note I got a heavier-duty new wheelset w/cassette with some big red tires that will suck the life out of my legs ans allow me to traverse sandpits.Hopefully on this New Year I will melt some of my girth on the trail and not taco another wheelset doing it.Got a new light set too.So say hi to the big man on the gold bike with red tires if you see me out there.
With my Irish luck ----my truck is in the shop now for 2 weeks and counting, and I came home to a flooded apt that allowed me to ring in the New Year with Royce from Triple A Plumbing . 2006 has got to be a better year.Hope everyone had a great time ringing in the new year and I'm optomistic that 2006 will be a better year for all.

Hey bro, what I was talking about is near Memorial CHase on the west side of the RR tracks. if there is something near Gander Mnt and 45 as well I would be interested in checking it out oo. I love to explore.
Going to go carb up and then head to cypresswood
