Do have a peep at what Sue Booth is doing for women's cycling in Chester.   http://www.chesterfabulousladies.blogspot.com/

On the Cycling North Wales website run by Maurice Clarke and I we make every effort to challenge stereotyping.

The latest on Ann is that she broke an ankle about a fortnight ago when the tandem slipped on a footbridge over which many cyclists pass,     She joined our Wednesday crowd yesterday in a wheelchair.   She is determined to get back in the saddle and attributes no blame to her captain.  A truly lovely lady

Subject: [CTC-RTR] Women & Cycling

Hello, particularly Sarah

We need more women taking part in campaigning. My wife presently walks
with a group of older women, quite a common thing in our area, just
off the Peak District. We were interested to see a similar group of
older women out for a day when we were in Belgium, the difference was
that they were on Bicycles. If only that could happen here.

In another instance, I had been lectured in a Letters to the Local
Paper reply for suggesting that cycling should be catered for better
in Stockport - the respondent said it was far too hilly to cycle. A
lady replied saying what nonsense. She cycled to get her shopping
which she put into her pannier bags, and she rode up one of the hills
in the area, and she was 82 years of age. We need more women making
their presence known.
