I went yesterday by rail from the Wirral into Liverpool.  I was much impressed by the efficiency with which cyclists used the facility without any problem. 

 

Talking to a member of staff I gathered cyclists are regarded much as any other classification of user - with courtesy and consideration. 

 

It seems at the weekend it is nothing to see clubs of up to thirty riders getting onto a single train.  If there is extra heavy use at any one period, there is the option of waiting for the next train fifteen minutes later - or the ferryboat.  And for the ancients, there is not only the benefit of a free pass, but the bikes go free as well!.  

 

Now you can't say fairer than that!
