I have never seen a trains "bike full" - undoubtedly helped because trains run every half hour from Chester. And the fare is reasonable (cheap day return for £ 2.90 for an "oldie" with or without bike).
I reckon that we should give the Arriva and Virgin franchises to Serco (who run Merseyrail)!
