For some time I have been negotiating with Chester Race Company, on behalf of the campaign, to reduce the number of closure days to the riverside promenade. At the moment it is shut for 35 days which includes a full day before and after each meeting.

 

The new proposal from the company is that the route will close at 4.30 on the day before a race meeting and re-open at 8.30 am on the day after the meeting.. This means closures for the equivalent of 20 days though six of these are between 4.30pm and 8.30am.

 

I would l welcome any views asap. I am thinking of suggesting that the route closes at 5 and reopens at 8 to assist commuters, particularly on week days.
