Latest message from Audrey. Whatever your political viewpoint, the idea of a "Primary" contest for the Conservative candidate is a novel one and a chance to get candidates' opinions "on the record".

I do feel that it is important to harry the developer - there will eventually be other developments along the length of the track and a history of local watchfulness may curb the biggest excesses....

Sadly Cllr John Burke died recently. Many of you would remember how he spoke out at the
County Council meeting with regard to quality of life fo residents living along the planned
busway site and also that he felt a traffic free walk/cyclway would be a more suitable way
forward. He will be sadly missed.
The, then, Conservative led County Council made the logical decision not to fund the busway
at that meeting.

At the same meeting Eveleigh Moore Dutton spoke out for the Millennium Greenway to stay a
traffic free, green open space suitable for pedestrians and cyclists. Eveleigh is a up for
Parlimentary Candidate Selection you can apply for a form by emailing her
Eveleigh.MooreDutton@... or down loading it from the site
www.chesterconservatives.com The application form which must be
returned by 24th Sept. Anyone can apply for a form to attend the Open Primary - no matter
what their political allegiance.

Those attending must be present for the entire Primary on the 29th Sept. (10am - 3pm)
Applicatants must be over 18. See form for other rules.
Please pass on this information as it is felt important we have councillors and a member of
parliament not hankering after a Chester busway down the Millennium Greenway.

Parkgate Road access - Queensgate - Edwards.

The site visit attended by Cllr Jill Houlbrook, Hilarie Mcnae, Rob Charnley - City Planning
Officer, Ann Jones CPRE, Ralph and I meant we could all give our opions regarding the mess
left by the work undertaken by the contractors working for Edwards. It was decided that
this was not acceptable in any form and that Regional Health and Safety were to be called
in as a matter of urgency. It was pointed out that this bank could become a ski slope and
adventure mountain bike ride, plus it has ruined the meadow flora. We were inform that a
gate would not be permited across the paved area vehicle access and the councillors agreed
they would ask for the issue to be 'called in' as Ann Jones suggested. It was felt by all
to need all the city councillors to know what had and was happening at this site. That they
should have a say if and when the developer had fully satisfied the agreement conditions.

Rob Charley filled a foolscape page of comments and suggestions we all made. He will send
emails to Ann Geroni asking her for comments ref. the site, also send email of updates to
Cllr J.Evans and D. Mead. All the ward councillors would keep the Queensgate residents
informed and others contacting them.

For some reason Peter Foster did not appear, I am sure he has a good excuse. Thank goodness
Sustrans had not come along and seeded this dumped soil mountain that has astonished
everyone as they had planned.

The diversion 'path' (so called) has been surfaced but the angle, though improved since my
email to Paul Thomas (Sustrans) is still not satisfactory and I am sure health and safety
would not be happy with it nor the rest of the job. I have reported to Paul Thomas
(Sustrans Maintenance Manager) the consternation this dumping etc has caused but you may
wish to contact him diectly with your comments his email is paul.thomas@...

Please continue to contact your coucillor as well if you have any further comments to make.
The planning officer has a list which consists of replacing all the trees felled and
landscaping to the satisfaction of the council, residents and users.I have also been given
information from an expert regarding replacement trees and I have passed this on too.

County Council Boundary Aerial Photo Survey held by the Transport Co-ordinator Dept.,
these show boundary lines of properties and could be a source of information as to the
land this developemtn has taken up. Please study them and contact your councillors to give
them your comments. We still need to keep on at them it is the only way to tackle Mr Neil
Edwards.

Sorry if my emails are not to clever I have limited time since Ralph has stepped in to
reduce the amount of work I carry out for community work ref. the Millennium Greenway.
Rushed typing leads to mistakes but I am sure you will forgive the spelling etc., my
fingers do one thing and my brain can't catch up I guess.
