It's kind of you to respond, Sarah. I'll convey you best wishes to Maurice.
I see him most days.
He's making steady progress recovering from a fractured hip and arm, and
remains feisty as far as campaigning for the right to cycle in safety is
concerned. But at 78 he can't be expected to bounce quite as high as in
the days of yore. He is likely to remain in Llandudno General hospital for
another fortnight at least
I'm taking the liberty of including CTC, and Cardiff and Chester Cycling
Campaigns in the loop. Hope you don't mind. Others are asking for news and
it saves responding individually.
Incidentally, the blue in the pic is the sea. It gives an indication of the
gradient Maurice was climbing - but it didn't preventing him checking his
rear, and .making a hand signal - which is what he was doing when he was hit
by the motorist - she said she didn't see him!
We campaigning for cycle safety, really do need to be more high-profile
active in our local communities. Committee chats with officials are all
very well, but the public needs to receive our message - I suspect it is
hungry for someone to take the lead on how to live healthy, active and safe
lifestyles in local neighbourhoods. The correspondence columns in the
local rags is a good start. Not everyone is good at writing letters, but
usually there is someone about who will help draft one.
Regards and thanks again, Sarah. It's much appreciated.
