To CTC RTR
Further to Alan Stuart and George Riches on press campaigning.
As one who uses the regional and local letter columns to try to get the
moderate and eminently sensible cycling message across, and invariably
provoking all sorts of anti reactions citing lack of bells, cycling on
pavements, and accidents waiting to happen et al (it's remarkable how many
pedestrians are 'leaping out of the way', or cyclists 'riding at 50mph', and
accidents there are 'just waiting to happen'), could it just be we trigger
in some individuals, psychological reactions bordering on the
pathological. Click

With society's obsessions with illnesses, is this one which demands closer
media
attention? And why should we be expected to carry the brunt of this
pernicious condition ?
Incidentally, I am reassured the world is not totally mad by being
approached at various times by non cycling individuals agreeing with what I
often write.
Mind you, I do have my front wheel on their necks at the time !
I suspect it also encourages others to join the fray in proclaiming the joys
of cycling.
Incidentally, reference to CTC in D Telegraphs Motoring Section, this
morning (Sat)..
Old news from last year, but keep up the good work, HQ. We must be doing
something right when jornalists assume their readers know the identity of
CTC
